A young woman has filed a complaint against the operator and other responsible individuals of the online platform Grok AI for tampering with photos of Hindu deities using Artificial Intelligence (AI). In connection with this, a case has been registered against unknown persons at the Cyber Crime Police Station.
Objectionable Content On X Platform’s AI
Ambika Rawat, a resident of Nehrugram, stated that AI-based applications and platforms are currently prevalent, including ChatGPT and Grok. She explained that while some of these AI platforms adhere to legal and cybersecurity standards, extremely serious, objectionable, and illegal activities are being conducted through Grok AI, which is available on the X platform.
Comparison Between ChatGPT And Grok AI Standards
It has come to light that while AI platforms like ChatGPT explicitly reject requests to make a person's photo obscene, citing them as illegal, such requests are being accepted by Grok AI. Images of ordinary citizens, especially women and deities are being digitally altered and displayed.
Allegations Of Religious Insult And Cybercrime
The complainant stated that it has come to her attention that ordinary images of Hindu deities are being digitally manipulated via Grok AI, which hurts religious sentiments and constitutes a cybercrime. Such acts are not only a serious assault on the faith, reverence and religious sentiments of society, but are also a clear case of the creation and dissemination of obscene material through digital means, religious insult, damage to national unity and a violation of public morality.
Police Action And Investigation
Taking cognisance of these serious facts, she requested that a case be registered against the AI platform application, its operators, and responsible individuals. Following the complaint, the Cyber Crime Police Station has registered a case against unknown persons to investigate the tampering and dissemination of these digital images.
