In a significant move to address local water scarcity, the government has approved a budget of Rs 90.43 lakh for the Jolly Grant drinking water scheme. The project aims to provide an adequate water supply to residents of Ward Number 4, Jolly Grant, and the Badowala area.
Funding And Implementation
The approval was granted to the Jal Sansthan (Water Board) following the efforts of local MLA Brijbhushan Gairola.
Total Approval: Rs 90.43 lakh.
First Installment: The government has already released a sum of Rs 54 lakh to the department to initiate the work.
Scope Of Work
According to Vinod Aswal, Additional Assistant Engineer at the Jal Sansthan, the funds will be utilised for:
- Constructing a new tubewell.
- Laying a drinking water pipeline.
Impact And Official Statements
The project is expected to permanently resolve the water shortage faced by the area, particularly during the summer months.
MLA Brijbhushan Gairola stated that he is undertaking continuous advocacy at the government level to resolve the area's ongoing issues.
Vinod Aswal confirmed that these infrastructural upgrades will ensure a reliable water supply for local residents.
