Uttarakhand: Centre Grants Rs 734 Crore Additional Aid For Infrastructure; Total Package Reaches Rs 1,806 Crore

The central government has granted Uttarakhand an additional Rs 759 crore in financial assistance to develop modern infrastructure and strengthen its economy. The funding includes Rs 734 crore for capital investment and Rs 25 crore for urban land reform. This assistance, awarded for timely financial reforms, will boost development projects in the state, for which Chief Minister Dhami expressed gratitude.

The central government has provided a significant financial package to Uttarakhand for the construction of modern infrastructure and to strengthen its economy. The Government of India's Ministry of Finance has decided to provide additional assistance of Rs 734 crore to Uttarakhand under the 'Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment' scheme. Including this additional aid, the Centre has now provided a total of Rs 1,806.49 crore in financial assistance to Uttarakhand for the financial year 2025-26.

Focus On Infrastructure And Urban Reforms

These funds will be used for roads, bridges, urban amenities, public works, and other necessary development projects in the state. Additionally, a separate sanction of Rs 25 crore has been granted for land reform and organised development in urban areas. The funds provided specifically for land reform in urban areas are expected to promote planned development, transparency, and an investment-friendly environment. The central government has awarded this amount to Uttarakhand for the timely completion of financial reforms.

Vision For A Developed

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for this. The Chief Minister stated that this assistance will be instrumental in making this the 'decade of Uttarakhand' and in realising the goal of a 'developed Uttarakhand'.
