The Uttarakhand government is increasing the pension for statehood activists in the new year. Additionally, activists will be provided with a discount for staying in state guest houses.
Following the Chief Minister's announcement, the Chief Minister's Announcement Department has issued the orders. The Home Department will now issue the formal orders.
According to Home Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, activists will begin to receive the increased pension and other facilities in the new year as per the Chief Minister's announcement.
On the occasion of State Foundation Day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had announced an increase in the honorarium pension for the dependants of martyred statehood activists from Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,500, an increase in the pension for injured activists from Rs 6,000 to 7,000, and an increase in the pension for two bedridden activists from Rs 20,000 to 30,000. He had also announced the beautification and maintenance of martyr sites and the naming of government buildings and roads in all districts after statehood activists.
The Chief Minister's Announcement Department has issued related orders to all concerned departments, which will now issue the formal orders. Meanwhile, BJP leader and former chairman of the State Activists' Honour Council, Ravindra Jugran, has expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Dhami and the government for this.
