The Uttarakhand State Health Authority is set to introduce a comprehensive SGHS Master Package aimed at improving services for Golden Card holders. The proposed package will cover 426 facilities and provide a detailed list of entitlements based on employees’ contributions.

Government employees and pensioners have raised concerns over the Golden Card scheme, citing reluctance from some empanelled hospitals to provide treatment and incomplete coverage for certain procedures. To address these issues, the Health Authority has prepared the Master Package, which has been submitted to the state government and is awaiting approval.

Officials have assured that discussions will be held with all empanelled hospitals to ensure proper treatment for Golden Card beneficiaries. Considering financial constraints, the Authority is also exploring a hybrid mode for the scheme to manage costs effectively.

Recently, the Uttarakhand Retired Personnel Coordination Committee met with Health Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, who instructed the timely settlement of medical reimbursement claims for employees and pensioners. The government is also reviewing the re-inclusion of pensioners who had initially opted out of the scheme.
