Uttarakhand Power Dept To Install LT Capacitor Banks On 76,903 Transformers, Cutting Electricity Theft And Losses

Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited will install LT capacitor banks on 76,903 distribution transformers across the state, with a total capacity of 886 MVAR. This initiative will improve the power supply, stabilise voltage and reduce the load on transformers.

Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has taken a significant step for electricity consumers. LT capacitor banks will now be installed on 76,903 distribution transformers across the state. 

With a total capacity of 886 MVAR, these capacitor banks will not only improve the power supply but also ensure stable voltage. This initiative will reduce the load on transformers, curb electricity theft, and decrease line losses. Consequently, consumers will receive uninterrupted and high-quality electricity.

UPCL's Managing Director, Anil Yadav, stated that the installation of capacitor banks will provide industries with stable voltage, improving production capacity and quality. 

Additionally, consumers will benefit from an uninterrupted and reliable electricity service. According to UPCL, this scheme will prove to be a major step towards modernising the state's electricity system. In the future, this will reduce the transformer failure rate and further strengthen the power supply system.
