Airtel Employee Viral Video: A video of an Airtel employee in Mumbai has gone viral, creating a big debate about language. In the video, the employee refuses to speak Marathi with a customer and says, “Why should I speak in Marathi? Where is it written to speak Marathi in Maharashtra? You should speak to me properly.” She also adds, “Marathi is not important to me. We live in Hindustan, and anyone can use any language.”

The customer in the video claims that the employee not only ignored his complaint but also shouted at him. During the argument, she reportedly said, “Why should I speak in Marathi? Have you bought, or do you own Maharashtra? Are you going to tell me where to work and not to work? Recording is not allowed, or I will call the police.”

This video has started a heated discussion, as many people believe that Marathi should be spoken by those living in Maharashtra. Others, however, feel that everyone has the right to choose their language.

The controversy grew bigger when BJP MLC Chitra Wagh criticised the Airtel employee in a post on X (formerly Twitter). She wrote, “The arrogance and rudeness in the Airtel gallery has come to light. Disrespect for Maharashtra and the Marathi language will not be tolerated. Airtel should apologise to all Marathi speakers on behalf of that girl.”

The viral video was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by user @akhil1485. Shared two days ago, the video has already garnered 72k views. Social media users reacted quickly, with opinions divided—some supported the employee, while others criticized her remarks.

One user stated, "If you don’t fire her, I am shifting to Jio." Another user expressed frustration, saying, "If you are in Maharashtra, speak in Marathi. Hindustan...? Maharashtra comes first. Talk in Marathi, Hindi-speaking people assume everyone knows Hindi." A third user linked the issue to a broader debate, commenting, "This is one of the main reasons why Tamil Nadu is opposing the three-language policy."

A fourth user commented, "This language war is dividing the whole country. We should accept Hindi as the official language across India so that people have a single mode of communication and recognize Bharat as one nation where any Bhartiya can live anywhere." Another user defended the employee, saying, "Where is the problem if she is speaking in Hindi? This man is unnecessarily creating a public stunt. She is just asking to speak in Hindi, so what’s the issue?"
