Himachal Mountains Viral Video: A video from the high mountains of Himachal Pradesh is making people uncomfortable and for the right reasons. It has once again forced everyone to look at the ugly side of tourism and pilgrimage in India’s most delicate natural spaces. The clip was shared by IFS officer Parveen Kaswan on Instagram and shows scenes from the Manimahesh Yatra. Instead of the calm, spiritual beauty people expect from a sacred journey, the video captures piles of garbage scattered across the mountains. What makes it more disturbing is the height; this mess exists even at around 13,000 feet.

Sharing the video, Kaswan didn’t hold back. He wrote, "Do you really think Hills are calling us!! This is a view from Manimahesh Yatra, Himachal Pradesh. Even at 13000 feet, we are leaving our marks." His words hit hard, directly questioning the popular idea of nature-loving travellers while showing the reality left behind.

Within hours of being posted, the video crossed 23K views and sparked intense reactions online. Many people were shocked to see plastic and waste dumped in such a remote and sensitive area. Several users called out the careless attitude of visitors who claim to respect nature but fail to act responsibly.

"We need a 'civic sense' as serious coursework from nursery to college. Should be treated and counted more seriously than traditional subjects," a user wrote. "This is sad. No amount of development can bring civic sense to us," a second user wrote. "Sir, the World’s 4th largest economy needs to invest in building civic sense," wrote a third user.

"Terrible and very sad to see.. Nothing can be done unless each one of us takes responsibility to keep our nature clean and plastic-free," added a fourth user. "Their religion doesn't teach them common civic sense," a fifth user added.

As the video continues to circulate, one message stands out clearly: visiting the mountains is not just about reaching the destination. It’s about leaving the place exactly as it was or better, long after the journey ends.
