Japan Snake Whiskey: After making headlines over a restaurant where people can pay 300 Yen to get multiple slaps from female waitresses, the culturally rich nation is in the limelight yet again. Just like before, this time too, the headlines have everything to do with restaurants and dining. Or let’s say, it's more about beverages, to be exact. So, what is it, you must be wondering. This time, Japan’s Habushu whiskey is going viral on the internet for one of the most unexpected reasons. Unlike other whiskeys, the Habushu comes with a pit viper, a Habu snake, inside the bottle. Yes, it's a thing and you can try it in Japan.

No matter how bizarre it may sound, snake whiskey actually has some health benefits, as the drink carries tradition and great craftsmanship in its making. The whiskey hails from Japan’s Okinawa, and a video of the same is now going viral.

The video was shared on the social media site Instagram, by the handle ‘Travel’. The post was captioned, “Would you try this Japanese snake whiskey?”

The video, soon after being shared, went viral for a number of reasons. Most people hated the fact that an animal was being used as a decoration, while others found no issue with it and compared it with other non-vegetarian dishes. Some expressed their fear of snakes and many dubbed Japan unique. The post was shared a few days ago and pulled 561K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people had a lot to add. “All y’all getting mad still gonna eat your burger in 10 mins,” a user said. “Why are all my friends in the bottle?” joked a next. “Why would people kill snakes just for decoration? Sad,” commented a next. “This is so sad.. that poor animal,” joined a fourth user. “I mean this is no different than any other animal-based food or drink product except the fact that the whole animal is the food/drink. As long as the snake isn’t endangered and is killed humanely to make it I don’t see an issue honestly,” said another.

“I'm so confused. Yall will eat a cheeseburger in a hot minute but will cry about snake whiskey? I'm vegetarian by the way before yall come for me about animal lives,” said next.
