US President Donald Trump has re-ignited the spotlight when he posted on his Truth Social account a series of pictures generated by artificial intelligence depicting a war waged on Iran in the form of fake missile strikes, at a time when the Middle East ceasefire hangs in the balance, in a tense atmosphere between Washington and Tehran.

The images showed AI-generated visions of US troops attacking Iran, one depicting a US warship firing a space laser gun at an aeroplane with Iranian colours on it, resulting in the latter blowing up in the air; and Trump has accompanying it, "Lasers: Bing, Bing, GONE!"

Another digitally created scene showed the US drone over the Iranian "fast boats" right before multiple explosions annihilate the boats; and Trump had captioned it, "BYE BYE, FAST BOATS".

Ceasefire Situation Still Fragile

Trump posted these comments while there is much animosity between the USA and Iran, and efforts of diplomatic reconciliation of the ceasefire are failing and seem more unstable than before. Trump himself said that the ceasefire was "on life support" and seemed frustrated at Iran's position regarding a US proposal to restart negotiations.

Trump rejected Iran's response to a US peace proposal and called it "totally unacceptable". “I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called “Representatives.” I don’t like it, TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!” read the post of the US President on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Iran's proposal to end the war with the US and reopen the Hormuz was legitimate and generous, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said, adding that the US continues to uphold unreasonable and one-sided demands."Our demand is legitimate: demanding an end to the war, lifting the (US) blockade and piracy, and releasing Iranian assets that have been unjustly frozen in banks due to US pressure," Baghaei said.

Security Meetings Underway

Reports suggest that Trump has had multiple meetings with his national security team to discuss possible ways forward. No definite course of action has yet been established.

The events highlight a region that is filled with uncertainty, where digital propaganda, diplomatic efforts and military actions have all started converging.
