After a controversial video depicting former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama, as apes, was posted by Trump’s Social Truth account on Friday, triggering a row, President Donald Trump on Saturday said that he ‘of course’ condemns the video. However, the POTUS has refused to apologise for the now-deleted video, which has been described as ‘racist’ by many.
Trump said that he did not watch the video to the end, and his staffer made a mistake by posting it on social media. President Trump said that he only saw the first part of the video and didn't watch till end, where Barack Obama and the former first lady were shown as apes in a Jungle.

“I looked at the beginning of it. It was fine,” he said, reported CNN. Referring to the first part of the video, which had claims about fraud in voting machines, he continued, ‘t was a very strong post in terms of voter fraud.’
Defending his staff over the matter, President Trump said, “Nobody knew that that was in the end. If they had looked, they would have seen it, and probably they would have had the sense to take it down.” He accused an unidentified individual of spoiling the video. “Somebody slipped and missed a very small part,” he added.
Trump Refuses To Apologize For Obamas’ Controversial Video
When asked if he would extend an apology for the ‘racist’ and controversial video posted on his social media account, Trump said, “No,” he said. “I didn’t make a mistake.” The video remained online for about 12 hours.
Over the allegation of racism after the video went viral, Trump said, “I am, by the way, the least racist president you’ve had in a long time.” However, on the question of whether he condemns the video or not, Trump stated, “Of course I do.”
What Is The Matter
A video of Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, was posted from Donald Trump’s Truth Social handle, which showed the Obamas as apes. The White House first rubbished the video as fake, but only after the row around it intensified, his office stated that it was an error by a staff member.
"A White House staffer erroneously made the post. It has been taken down," a White House official told AFP.
