Epstein Files: Amid the intensifying debate around the Epstein files, several images and videos claiming the involvement of global personalities in paedophilia and child abuse have been disturbing people worldwide. The release of nearly three million pages of documents in the case has triggered a wave of lucid claims, such as Cannibalism and ‘ritual sacrifice’. Several viral images allegedly establish the claim.
The files linked with child sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein were released by the US Department of Justice, after Trump allowed the Disclassification of the files. The final tranche of files was released last Friday. Esptein was found dead in his jail cell in 2019.
Soon after the files were released on January 30, people on social media began claiming that Epstein's social circle was engaged in cannibalism and ritualistic sacrifice of babies, with people sharing snippets from emails in the files.

‘Elites Eat People’ Claim Goel Viral
After the document was released, a video of 21-year-old model, Gabriela Rico Jiménez from 2009 was shared widely, in which she claimed about elites eating people, performing rituals, and engaging in sacrifices at an elite party, showing her shouting and being detained in Guadalajara.
In light of the Epstein files, the video is being circulated with claims that elites indeed eat humans.
People On Epstein Island Were Involved In Cannibalism?
To address the viral claim of cannibalism at Epstein Island, fact-checking website Snopes reviewed the DOJ documents. As per the website, while there is mention of cannibalism and ritualistic sacrifice, the practise of these could be verified by mere mentions of these terms in documents.
For instance, one message attributed to Epstein and widely shared online read, there are millions of babies, very little good vegatble [vegetable cream cheese.”
Another line from the same exchange says: “Lol, I don't know if cream cheese and baby are on the same level.”
As per the review by Snopes, “cannibal” appears 52 times in the Epstein files, while “cannibalism” is mentioned six times. “In short, the claim that the Epstein files contain such allegations and references was true, based on Snopes' review of the federal records,” the report said.

As per Snopes, the viral claim is rooted in a purported interview of an anonymous individual with FBI officials in 2019.
Babies Dismembered, Intestines Removed: Anonymous Individual To FBI Official
Citing DOJ documents, Snopes reported that an anonymous man claimed that he was abused at Epstein’s yacht in 2000. The anonymous man, in an email to FBI officials, told that he “was a victim of a type of ritualistic sacrifice in which his feet were cut with a scimitar, but left no scarring. On the yacht, he witnessed babies being dismembered, their intestines removed, and individuals eating the faeces from these intestines.”
However, the man did not provide any proof to establish his claims, Snopes reported, citing DOJ documents.
