France Plane Crash: At least 11 people have died after a civilian aircraft carrying skydivers crashed on Sunday in Tomblaine, near Nancy in France. Emergency teams quickly reached the crash site as authorities began investigating the incident.
11 Killed In Plane Crash
According to Reuters report, the aircraft belonged to a parachutist school and was reportedly carrying a group of skydivers when it went down. The pilot and all 10 passengers, including five students and five instructors, have died in the accident.Regional broadcaster France 3 Grand Est said the death toll is high and warned there was also a risk of the aircraft exploding. State services in Meurthe-et-Moselle also confirmed the incident.
Rescue Operation Underway
In a post on X, the state services stated that an incident is currently unfolding in the municipality of Tomblaine involving a civilian aircraft that took off from Nancy-Essey aerodrome. It further noted that Yves Seguy, Prefect of Meurthe-et-Moselle, has activated the departmental operational center (COD) along with all emergency services to monitor the situation in real time and coordinate response efforts.
