Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has posted another video on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), after Grok AI, claimed that one of his earlier videos was "AI-generated."

The latest footage shows Netanyahu engaging with locals in Israel as the country continues to face heightened tensions related to the ongoing war with Iran.

This comes after days of online speculation surrounding a televised address, in which the Prime Minister appeared to have six fingers on one hand, sparking accusations that the footage was doctored.

In the newly shared video, Netanyahu is seen conversing with locals and taking in the sights of Jerusalem.

In the 91-second clip, he is filmed walking and talking with residents.

"How beautiful. Thank you very much. Thank you. Good. Let’s soak up some sun," Netanyahu says.

At one point, he notices a dog and inquires, "Whose dog is this? What breed?" A woman responds, "Canaanite-Israeli."

The Canaan Dog, also known as the Canaanite-Israeli dog, is officially recognised as Israel’s national dog breed.

As the video continues, Netanyahu keeps chatting with those around him. "Canaanite-Israeli, well done. It’s also good for her to get out a bit. It’s good for all of you. Did you come out to get some air?" he asks.

"Of course, as long as there is a protected space nearby," he adds.

A woman mentions that a safe space is close by, to which Netanyahu responds, "Great, that’s what’s most important. The IDF will win, and we will protect ourselves."

In a separate video shared earlier, Netanyahu is seen at a cafe outside Jerusalem, receiving a cup of coffee.

"You know what? I’m 'dying' for my people. How they are behaving is fantastic," he is heard saying. However, Grok claimed that the video is not real and is an AI-generated deepfake clip. The claim further fuelled speculation about his whereabouts and wellbeing.

In fact, Grok AI called it a 'satire' video. The AI assistant also gave several instances in the video that pointed to it being fake: Static coffee level and unnatural lip sync.

Netanyahu also raised both his hands to show his fingers, saying, "Do you want to count my fingers? You can see them here… and here. See? Very nice."

Meanwhile, Iran has been engaged in a war with the US and Israel for the past 17 days. Joint Israeli and US strikes decapitated the Islamic regime by killing Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on the first day of the ongoing strikes.

Iran has since retaliated with attacks on neighbouring countries with US bases, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait. According to The Pentagon, US and Israeli forces have struck over 15,000 targets across Iran since February 28.
