Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has officially declared the end of the 12-day war with Israel, calling it a victory for the "heroic resistance" of the Iranian people. His statement, broadcast by Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency, marked a significant moment in the volatile Middle East conflict that saw weeks of intense missile exchanges and military strikes.

Israeli military chief Eyal Zamir declared the end of a “significant chapter” in the military campaign against Iran but emphasised that the broader campaign is ongoing. The Israeli military, he added, will now shift its focus back to Gaza to rescue hostages and dismantle Hamas' rule.

Following the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' (IRGC) strike on a US military base in Qatar, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian personally called Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Qatar strongly condemned the attack as a breach of sovereignty and international law. Emir Tamim urged Iran to return to diplomatic talks to avoid further escalation. Pezeshkian expressed regret, clarifying that Qatar was not the intended target. 

Explosions rocked parts of Iran on Monday afternoon, shortly after US President Donald Trump condemned both Iran and Israel for breaching the ceasefire he had announced. A top Iranian commander from the Basij counterintelligence protection forces was reportedly killed in an Israeli airstrike. 

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed that Iran will continue to respect the ceasefire agreement with Israel as long as Israel adheres to it. Speaking through state-affiliated Nournews, he added that Iran remains open to dialogue and will prioritise protecting Iranian national interests at the negotiation table.

Israeli army radio, or Galatz, on Tuesday reported that Israeli Defence Forces had struck an Iranian radar site near Tehran.

Iranian media on Tuesday afternoon reported that at least two explosions were heard in Iran's capital city of Tehran, shortly after US President Donald Trump asked Israel to stop dropping more bombs in Iran, given the ceasefire deal he brokered between the two raging Middle Eastern nations just hours ago.

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced that all of Israel's military planes would demobilize and go home, indicating full implementation of the ceasefire that Israel and Iran signed following almost two weeks of aggressive conflict. “All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly ‘Plane Wave’ to Iran. Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect!”  Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social, promising that military escalation was avoided. The announcement came amid fears of renewed hostilities after reports emerged of minor Iranian missile activity near the Israeli border, a move Israel considers a breach of the US-brokered ceasefire. Tensions flared shortly after Trump’s announcement, According to a report by Axios,  Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Trump he could not cancel a planned limited retaliatory strike in response to Iran’s violation of the ceasefire terms. “Some response is needed,” Netanyahu added. 

In the wake of increasing international alarm over Iran's nuclear program, a top adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated that "the game is not over" and announced that Iran still has considerable amounts of enriched uranium, notwithstanding intense US bombing of its highest nuclear facilities on June 21. The announcement follows the United States, executing huge air raids on three strategic Iranian uranium enrichment sites, Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, using B-2 stealth bombers with bunker-busting bombs. In an interview with Iranian state television, Mohammad Eslami, the chairman of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran, said Iran had expected such attacks and taken "necessary measures" to ensure the continuity of its nuclear activities. “Plans for restarting (the facilities) have been prepared in advance, and our strategy is to ensure that production and services are not disrupted,” Eslami said. He affirmed that the government is already gauging the extent of the damage but guaranteed that the nation's nuclear policy is still in place.

Satellite images released by Maxar Technologies on June 22 indicated severe structural damage at the Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant (FFEP) deep inside northern Iran's mountains. The same damage is expected to have taken place at Natanz and Isfahan, which are pivotal to Iran's uranium enrichment program.

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday slammed both Israel and Iran for breaking a recently declared ceasefire, expressing particular frustration with Israel for launching what he described as “major new strikes” on the Iranian capital, Tehran, shortly after the truce came into effect. The ceasefire, brokered after 12 days of heated combat in the Middle East, was to put a stop to the fighting between the two rivals after the US itself entered the fray over the weekend. "Israel. Do not drop those bombs. If you do it it is a major violation. Bring your pilots home, now!" Trump wrote on Truth Social shortly after he left the White House for a trip to a NATO summit in The Hague. Before boarding, he told reporters he was "not happy" with either side for violating the truce, particularly with Israel, which he said had "unloaded" straight after agreeing to it.

Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani on Tuesday said that Iranian attacks on Qatar will scar relations with Iran, but hopes neighbourly relations will not be damaged, reported Reuters.

Israel struck Iran in three stages up until 9 a.m. local time (0530 GMT) on Tuesday, the spokesperson of Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya central military headquarters said, according to state TV. Iranian state TV earlier said a ceasefire would take place in Iran from 7:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday.

Iran's Supreme National Security Council, its top security body, earlier said its armed forces were prepared to "decisively respond" to renewed attacks.

Iran's military has denied that it fired missiles at Israel hours after a ceasefire proposed by President Donald Trump began, Iranian state television reported. The report cited the general staff of Iran’s armed forces, which includes its regular military and its paramilitary Revolutionary Guard.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday that Moscow was in favour of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran but it was hard to tell if would last.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said that Iran had “completely violated” the ceasefire between Israel and Iran by launching missiles after the ceasefire came into effect. Katz said he instructed the Israeli military to resume targeting Iranian paramilitary and government targets.

Israel said it had identified missiles launched from Iran into its airspace less than three hours after the ceasefire went into effect, after both Israel and Iran accepted President Donald Trump's plan to end the 12-day war roiling the Middle East.

China does not want tensions between Israel and Iran to escalate and is willing to work with the international community to maintain peace and stability in the Middle East, a foreign ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday.

Flights to the Middle East resumed early Tuesday morning from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, following the reopening of airspace in the region after a brief closure, PTI reported citing airport sources. Emirates, Etihad Airways, and Air Arabia were among the first to resume operations. Flights bound for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah operated by the three carriers landed and departed in the early hours without disruption, airport sources said.
However, several scheduled services were cancelled earlier in the morning as the situation stabilised, they said.

Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Monday dismissed reports of a ceasefire agreement with Israel, stating that no such deal would be possible unless Israeli aggression ceased by 4 am Tehran time (6.00 am IST).

In a post on X, Araghchi reiterated that the current conflict was initiated by Israel, "not the other way around." He emphasised that Iran has no intention to continue with the conflict unless the Israeli regime "stops its illegal aggression."

US President Donald Trump announced on Monday a complete ceasefire between Israel and Iran, potentially ending the 12-day war that saw millions flee Tehran and prompted fears of further escalation in the war-torn region. But there was no confirmation from Israel and the Israeli military said it had detected missiles launched from Iran
towards Israel in the early hours of Tuesday.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has made his first reaction after strikes on US airbase in Qatar. He said, "We didn't harm anyone. And we will not accept any harassment from anyone under any circumstances. And we will not submit to anyone's harassment; This is the logic of the Iranian nation."

Almost all airlines, including IndiGo, Akasa Air, and SpiceJet, operating from India, have stated that their operations might get impacted due to airspace closure in the Middle East. In their advisories, they have requested the passengers to keep a check on their flight status. 

The Arab League chief Ahmed Abou-Gheit has expressed his "complete solidarity" with Qatar following Iran’s missile attack on the airbase, calling it "unacceptable."

Air India, in a statement said that it has ceased all operations in the region as well as to and from the East Coast of North America and Europe with immediate effect. It said, "Amid the developing situation in the Middle East, Air India has ceased all operations to the region as well as to and from the East Coast of North America and Europe with immediate effect, until further notice. Our India-bound flights from North America are diverting back to their respective origins and others are being diverted back to India or re-routed away from the closed airspaces. We request the understanding of all passengers who may be affected by this disruption that’s beyond an airline’s control. Air India is in continuous consultation with its external security advisors and is vigilantly monitoring the evolving situation. We will keep our passengers informed of any updates. The safety and security of our passengers and staff remain our number one priority."

Saudi Arabia has condemned Iranian strikes on US base in Qatar calling it "unjustifiable." It has offered to deploy "all its capabilities" to support Doha.

The United States has confirmed that its air base in Qatar was targeted by a missile attack from Iran and said no casualties were reported, according to the Associated Press. 

Qatar's Ministry of Defence confirmed that its air defences successfully intercepted a missile targeting Al-Udeid Air Base. No casualties were reported. Authorities reassured the public that national airspace remains secure and urged citizens to follow official updates only.

The Ministry of Interior of Bahrain has issued an emergency alert, stating that sirens have been sounded. Citizens and residents are being asked to stay calm and proceed to the nearest safe location. 

Explosions were heard across Doha and nearby Lusail on Monday evening, shortly after Qatar closed its airspace due to escalating regional tensions following US strikes on Iran. Witnesses reported seeing projectiles in the night sky.

Multiple strategic Iranian military and security installations were struck this afternoon. Among the targets were IRGC command centres, the Basij headquarters, central to regime enforcement, and corps overseeing operations and internal unrest suppression in Tehran. The General Intelligence Directorate of Iran’s internal security forces was also hit. These strikes appear to be aimed at crippling Iran’s domestic control and operational command capabilities.

The Israeli military has issued an evacuation warning to residents of Tehran amid escalating tensions. Specific reasons were not officially detailed. 

Iranian authorities have arrested a European national accused of spying for Israel, according to state media. The individual, allegedly posing as a tourist, was detained in Hamadan Province. Officials claim the suspect was gathering intelligence and attempting to disrupt Iran’s missile systems.

Air France has suspended flights to Tel Aviv until July 14 and to Beirut until June 25 due to regional instability. Additionally, flights to and from Dubai and Riyadh are cancelled until June 24. The airline cited security concerns amid rising tensions in the Middle East.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz announced that the IDF is carrying out powerful airstrikes targeting core symbols of the Iranian regime in the heart of Tehran. The targets include political prisons, the Basij headquarters, Revolutionary Guards' facilities, and the infamous "Israel Destruction" clock. Katz warned that attacks will continue with full force until Israel achieves all its war objectives.

In a fresh escalation of hostilities in the region, Iran's Fordow underground nuclear site has been reportedly attacked again, Iranian state television reported. The extent and nature of the strike are unclear, but reports indicate that one of Iran's most defended nuclear sites was hit by an aerial or missile attack in the early morning hours Monday. The Fordo enrichment plant, deep beneath a mountain near the holy city of Qom, has been a target of global suspicion for years. The facility is renowned for enriching uranium to very high purity levels and is regarded as a key part of Iran's nuclear network.

Iran fired a barrage of missiles and drones at Israel on Monday that hit key cities like Tel Aviv and Haifa as part of its continuous military campaign called Operation "True Promise 3", Iranian state media said. Iran's military also sternly warned the United States that its troops had been granted a "free hand" to attack American targets in retaliation against US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear installations. There were no initial reports of any significant damage or casualties on the Israeli side.

The missile and drone attack was particularly directed at Tel Aviv and Haifa port city, Iranian state broadcaster IRIB reported. The new strikes are the third set of Iranian retaliatory attacks since the recent assault on its nuclear facilities. Israeli Counterstrikes Hit Iranian Media and Infrastructure Targets. In a rapid reaction, Israeli airstrikes were allegedly aimed at several areas in Tehran, including:

• A technical facility of the Iranian state broadcaster
• A feeder station for electricity in the Evin district of northern Tehran, according to Tasnim News Agency

Though there were no citywide power disruptions in the capital, multiple big explosions were heard throughout Tehran, causing greater panic among locals.

International airlines have canceled or rerouted flights to some of the most significant Middle Eastern locations as anxiety grows following the US bombing of Iran's nuclear infrastructure and Israeli airstrikes against Iranian targets. The airlines have taken this action in the face of tighter airspace regulations and growing worries about the safety of both passengers and crew. For routes passing through or arriving in nations like Israel, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and the Gulf hubs of Dubai and Doha, some airlines have canceled flights or closed reservations.

Some of the worst-hit destinations are Tel Aviv and Tehran, which are now both considered high-risk airspaces. Dubai, Doha, Amman, and Beirut have also had several flight cancellations or short-term suspensions. Air France-KLM, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Emirates, United Airlines, British Airways, and Ryanair are among scores of airlines that have suspended operations, posted travel warnings, or diverted flights to steer clear of flying over conflict areas. “The safety of our passengers and crew is our top priority,” said a Lufthansa Group spokesperson, confirming suspension of flights to Tel Aviv, Tehran, and Beirut until at least July 31, with Amman and Erbil routes suspended until July 11.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have launched a series of massive, intelligence-based airstrikes in several Iranian provinces such as Kermanshah, Hamedan, and Tehran. As per the IDF, around 20 Israeli Air Force (IAF) warplanes participated in the coordinated operation. The airstrikes were said to be aimed at high-priority Iranian military resources, including storage and launching facilities of surface-to-surface missiles, radar, and satellite systems used for aerial intelligence gathering, and a surface-to-air missile launcher positioned near Tehran.

The IDF confirmed it targeted six Iranian regime-controlled airports throughout western, central, and eastern Iran. With remotely piloted planes, Israeli forces destroyed at least 15 planes and helicopters, including F-14s, F-5s, AH-1 Cobra helicopters, and a refueling plane. Runways, underground bunkers, and hardened shelters were also hit and damaged. The IDF stated the operation was one of several aimed at weakening Iran's ability to project offense and to enhance Israel's air dominance in the region. "These strikes are part of our sustained effort to weaken the Iranian regime's military capabilities and gain air superiority for the protection of Israeli civilians," the IDF said in an official statement. In another statement, the IDF confirmed that it conducted a targeted operation in the Kermanshah area, targeting missile launching and storage sites that are suspected of targeting Israeli territory.

According to the Russian Interfax agency, President Vladimir Putin will meet Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in Moscow on Monday. The meeting comes following US airstrikes on Iran's nuclear installations at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

Iran's Ambassador to India Iraj Elahi on Monday came down heavily upon the United States and Israel for the recent joint strikes on Iran's nuclear bases as a "serious violation" of international law and the UN Charter. The coordinated strikes, code-named Operation Midnight Hammer, were launched against Iran's major nuclear hubs in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan in the pre-dawn hours of June 22.

In a strongly worded video statement shared on social media, Ambassador Elahi claimed that Iran's peaceful nuclear sites were under the complete watch of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and stressed that Tehran has the right to reply by international law. “The United States and Zionist regime have committed a grave violation of the UN Charter, international law, and the NPT (Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons) by attacking Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities. The aggressive US government and Zionist regime are held fully responsible for the extremely dangerous consequences of this grave crime,” Elahi said. He appealed to the United Nations and all member states that are responsible to make a clear-cut denunciation of the military attack. "Every single member of the United Nations should be outraged at these tremendously perilous, lawless, and criminal actions. Otherwise, no state would be safe from breaches of international law," he stated. 

Iran has executed a man convicted of collaborating with Israel's intelligence service, Mossad, a report by Iran's Tasnim news agency said. Mohammadamin Shayesteh, arrested in late 2023 and accused of operating as the head of a cyber-espionage team allegedly affiliated with Mossad. Iranian officials accused Shayesteh of having a key role in gathering sensitive information for Israel, a charge which eventually resulted in his death sentence. The development comes amid escalating tension,s especially after US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites and regional instability.

The government of Pakistan has summoned an emergency session of its highest security wing, the National Security Committee (NSC), on Monday night to assess the rapidly changing regional environment after the United States' targeted air strikes against Iran's strategic nuclear facilities. The high-level meeting will be headed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and will have senior civilian and military leadership present, including Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, sources in the Prime Minister's Office stated this to PTI.

Field Marshal Munir, who has just come back from a visit to Washington, D.C., will reportedly update the committee on his high-level interactions, including a meeting with US President Donald Trump. The emergency session follows a day after the United States carried out airstrikes on three central Iranian nuclear facilities, Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz in an action that has attracted global attention. The airstrikes were said to target paralyzing Tehran's nuclear ambitions and followed increased tensions in the region. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, speaking with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the phone, expressed sympathy for the deaths and reiterated Islamabad's "unshakeable solidarity with the Iranian people and the Iranian government.

Oil prices surged to their highest levels since January on Monday, fueled by rising tensions in the Middle East after the United States joined Israel in bombing Iran's nuclear sites over the weekend. The geopolitical fallout is fueling concerns of significant supply disruptions, especially in the key Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude futures jumped 1.88 USD, or 2.44 per cent, to 78.89 USD a barrel, after hitting a session high of 81.40 USD, touching five-month highs before giving up some gains. Meanwhile, U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude gained 1.87 USD, or 2.53 per cent, to 75.71 USD, earlier peaking at 78.40 USD per barrel.

The sudden spike in oil prices followed after US President Donald Trump announced he had "obliterated" Iran's major nuclear facilities in a joint military campaign with Israel. The move marks a major escalation in the regional conflict, with Tehran vowing to retaliate. Iran, the OPEC's third-largest crude producer, has reacted fiercely. Iran's state-owned Press TV stated that Iran's parliament approved a bill to seal off the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic strait that carries nearly 20 per cent of the world's crude oil. While Iran has made the threat before, athe pproval of this action sent tremors in the global markets.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on Sunday cautioned that the United States' recent airstrikes on major Iranian nuclear sites represent a "perilous turn" in the Middle East conflict. His statement came during an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, convened following President Donald Trump's confirmation of US airstrikes on Iran's nuclear installations at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. As fears of a wider regional conflict grew, Guterres urged de-escalation and a return to diplomatic talks immediately. “The bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities by the United States marks a perilous turn in a region that is already reeling,” the UN chief told the 15-member Council. “From the outset of this crisis, I have repeatedly condemned any military escalation in the Middle East,” he added.

Appealing for all concerned to show restraint, Guterres called on the international community to act "immediately and decisively." He underlined that the people of the region cannot endure another round of violence and devastation. “We now risk descending into a rathole of retaliation after retaliation,” he warned, calling on the Security Council to engage in renewed diplomatic efforts with Iran. He cautioned that the world is at a crossroads between a path that could lead to broader war and one that promotes de-escalation, diplomacy, and dialogue. "We know which way is right. We must not give up on peace," he declared.

The Washington-based Human Rights Activists reported on Monday that at least 950 individuals have been killed and 3,450 injured in Iran since Israeli airstrikes commenced earlier this month. The organisation said it had confirmed the deaths of 380 civilians and 253 members of Iran's security forces, with the remaining still being identified.  Although Iran's government has not put out regular casualty reports, its Health Ministry admitted Saturday that 400 have been killed and more than 3,000 wounded.

The Iran-backed Lebanese militant organisation Hezbollah issued a statement on Sunday condemning the US airstrikes on Iran, but refrained from directly threatening to join Tehran’s response, according to the Associated Press.

“The blatant deceit and deception practised by US President Donald Trump, driven by illusions of control and arrogance ... confirms that the United States of America, along with the tyrants of arrogance, is a threat to the security and stability of the Islamic Republic,” the statement said.

“... This proves to the entire world that America is the official sponsor of terrorism and does not recognize international conventions, humanitarian laws, pledges, or obligations.”

The United States officially designates Hezbollah as a terrorist organisation.

An adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Sunday that Iran retains its stockpile of enriched uranium, despite recent US attacks on key nuclear facilities.

“Even if nuclear sites are destroyed, game isn’t over, enriched materials, indigenous knowledge, political will remain,” Ali Shamkhani posted on X.

He further stated that the “political and operational initiative is now with the side that plays smart, avoids blind strikes. Surprises will continue!”

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced on Sunday that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will convene for an emergency session today at Iran’s request. The meeting follows the recent US airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities.

Dar noted that the emergency session has received backing from Pakistan, China, and Russia. He added that the meeting is set to take place this afternoon, according to New York time.

Sharing the update on his official social media account, Dar wrote: "Emergency Meeting of the UN Security Council, at the request of Iran, supported by Pakistan, China and Russia is being scheduled this afternoon New York time!"

Explosions were heard in northern Tehran on Sunday, an AFP journalist reported, as clashes between Iran and Israel continued for the tenth consecutive day.

It was not immediately known whether the blasts were the result of Israeli missile strikes or Iranian air defence activity, AFP reported

Following unprecedented US strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, two prominent Iranian opposition leaders on Sunday called for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to resign in order to prevent further bloodshed, AFP reported.

Reza Pahlavi, the son of the deposed Shah from the 1979 Islamic Revolution, and Maryam Rajavi, leader of the outlawed People’s Mujahedin of Iran (MEK), both issued separate statements urging Khamenei to step down, as the war between Iran and Israel entered its second week.

The leaders of Britain, France, and Germany on Sunday called on Iran to refrain from any steps that could escalate tensions in the region, According to Reuters.

"We have consistently been clear that Iran can never have a nuclear weapon and can no longer pose a threat to regional security," said the joint statement issued by the heads of government of the three nations, collectively known as the E3.

"We call upon Iran to engage in negotiations leading to an agreement that addresses all concerns associated with its nuclear program. We stand ready to contribute to that goal in coordination with all parties."

The statement also reaffirmed the E3’s commitment to supporting Israel’s security.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said India has been closely monitoring the Middle East situation over the past two weeks. He assured that under PM Modi’s leadership, India has diversified its oil import routes, reducing reliance on the Strait of Hormuz.

Oil Marketing Companies have reserves for several weeks and continue to receive supplies from multiple sources, ensuring fuel stability.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Sunday that the United States must “receive a response” for its strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, during a phone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, AFP reported.

"The Americans must receive a response to their aggression," Pezeshkian told Macron, according to Iran’s official news agency, IRNA.

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stated on Sunday that Iran has crossed critical red lines in its nuclear programme and must return to the negotiating table.

Speaking to German public broadcaster ARD, Wadephul said that preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons is a legitimate objective. He also noted that European countries are ready to support potential negotiations between Iran and the United States, according to a Reuters report.

British Airways cancelled all flights between London’s Heathrow Airport and the cities of Dubai and Doha on Sunday, in response to the recent US strikes on Iran and rising concerns about escalating tensions in the Middle East.

"As a result of recent events, we have adjusted our flight schedule to ensure the safety of our customers and crew," a BA spokesperson said, confirming the suspension of both outbound and return flights on these routes, according to AFP.

Flight tracking service Flightradar24 reported that a British Airways flight from Heathrow to Dubai was diverted to Zurich on Saturday night.

When AFP checked the airline’s website, no flights were available for Sunday or Monday on the affected routes, although bookings were open from Tuesday onward.

While British Airways has not confirmed when services will resume, it stated that the situation is being closely monitored.

The airline normally operates three daily flights between Heathrow and Dubai, and two flights to Doha.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has called on China to intervene and urge Iran not to block the vital oil route, the Strait of Hormuz, a move reportedly under consideration following American airstrikes on three of Iran's nuclear facilities.

Speaking to Fox News, Rubio said, "I encourage the Chinese government in Beijing to call them about that, because they heavily depend on the Straits of Hormuz for their oil."

"If they do that, it will be another terrible mistake. It's economic suicide for them if they do it. And we retain options to deal with that, but other countries should be looking at that as well. It would hurt other countries' economies a lot worse than ours," he added.

Following a series of US airstrikes targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated on Sunday that the United States is willing to let Iran run nuclear power plants, but not enrich its own fuel.

"The Iranian regime should wake up and say 'OK, if we really want nuclear energy in our country, there's a way to do it.' That offer's still there, we're prepared to talk to them tomorrow," Rubio said during an interview with Fox News.

"Ultimately, they have to make a decision. It's a very simple decision: if what they want is nuclear reactors so they can have electricity -- there are so many other countries in the world that do that, and they don't have to enrich their own uranium -- they can do that," he added.

Iran issued a stern warning stating that “every American civilian and military personnel” present in the region would be regarded as a “legitimate target,” as reported by the country’s state media.

The statement followed a series of early morning US airstrikes that struck three major Iranian nuclear facilities: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

Following what it called “unprecedented” US attacks on its nuclear sites, Iran declared on Sunday that it is fully prepared to protect itself through “all necessary means.”

"It is now crystal clear that the US administration has been colluding with a war criminal and genocidal warmonger to wage an unjust war of aggression against our beloved nation in flagrant violation of fundamental principles of international law, the UN Charter, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)," read a post on X by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei.

“Iran is resolutely determined to defend its national sovereignty, territorial integrity, national security and people by all necessary means, in exercise of its inherent right of self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter as well as in accordance with its rights under NPT," Baqaei added.

Iran’s health ministry confirmed that while several individuals were injured in the recent US strikes targeting its nuclear facilities, none of them displayed any signs of radioactive contamination.

“For years, the ministry of health has set up nuclear emergency units in the nearest medical facilities to nuclear sites,” ministry spokesman Hossein Kermanpour said in a post on X.

“Fortunately, none of the injured individuals who were transferred to these centres following the American bombardment showed any signs of radioactive contamination,” he added.

The Strait of Hormuz is the entrance to the Gulf where nearly a quarter of the oil shipped around the world passes through narrow waters that Iran controls. Iran's Press TV said closing the strait would require approval from the Supreme National Security Council, a body led by an appointee of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The president authorised a precision operation to neutralise the threats to our national interests posed by the Iranian nuclear program," Hegseth told reporters at the Pentagon.

Israel’s Health Ministry reported that 86 people were hospitalized following the latest wave of Iranian missile strikes. Among them, two are in moderate condition, 77 are in good condition, four are being treated for acute anxiety, and three are still undergoing evaluation. Emergency services remain on high alert.
