Iran Secret Service Mossad: Former President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has charged Israeli espionage with breaking into Iran's spy agencies. According to Ahmadinejad, the head of an Iranian organisation tasked with opposing Israeli operations was recruited by Mossad.
Ahmadinejad also claimed that while the agency was recruited to keep an eye on the Israeli intelligence operations, it ended up turning against its own nation. These remarks by Ahmadinejad came while he was in an interview with CNN Türk, the Turkish-language affiliate of CNN.
Ahmadinejad claimed that Mossad enlisted several people from the Iranian intelligence unit including two seniors, who were involved in providing significant information to Israel, while also working for Iran. Reportedly, some 20 names have been enlisted who were working as double agents. The former Iranian president further informed that these agents' work involved giving sensitive information about Iran's nuclear program to Israel.
These claims have raised concerns about the security of Iran's intelligence network and its vulnerability to foreign infiltration.

Notably, this is not the first time Israel has been accused of spying on Iran. Earlier in 2018 too, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that a significant amount of information about Iran's nuclear program had been stolen by Israeli spies.
During a high-profile address, Netanyahu showed documents claiming it as proof of Iran's secret nuclear weapons program.
Later, the International Atomic Energy Agency verified that the records were stolen in Tehran during a covert operation.
Meanwhile, three days after Israel's military killed the leader of the Iranian-backed Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Iranians on Monday that there was nowhere in the Middle East beyond Israel's reach.
"There is nowhere in the Middle East Israel cannot reach. There is nowhere we will not go to protect our people and protect our country," Netanyahu said. He said the Iranian government was bringing Iranians "closer to the abyss". Iran and Israel would be at peace when Iran is "finally free", which he said would "come a lot sooner than people think".

Referring to Hezbollah's Hassan Nasrallah, killed on Friday in Israeli airstrikes on Beirut, Netanyahu said that "puppets" of the Iranian "regime" were eliminated every day. Israel has ramped up attacks on militant targets in Lebanon against Hezbollah, the best armed of militant groups across the Middle East aligned with Iran.
