Israel’s military has claimed that one of its F-35 stealth fighter jets shot down an Iranian fighter aircraft over Tehran. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards targeted a US destroyer that was refueling from an American tanker ship in the Indian Ocean. Qadr-360 and Talaeiyeh missiles of the IRGC Navy hit the target located around 650 kilometers off Iranian southern coasts, Tasnim New Agency reports citing IRGC statement.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Foreign Ministry said that it has the right to defend itself, and the UAE earlier said that it has exposed to over 1,000 drones since the conflict between Iran and Israel, the US erupted and expanded in the region. 

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said that it can not fully verify Iran's nuclear activities due to damage caused by strikes. It said that monitoring systems were damaged in strikes, and access to some facilities became uncertain. 

The son of Iran's former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, who was killed in a joint military assault by the US and Israel, has been appointed as the new Supreme Leader of Iran, said media reports. Mujtaba is expected to lead Iran and its retaliation after the attack.

Daoud Alizadeh, acting commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force’s Lebanon Corps, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Tehran earlier today, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed. Alizadeh had assumed leadership of the Lebanon Corps after Mohammad Reza Zahedi was killed in an Israeli strike on Damascus in April 2024.

Reports indicate that loud explosions were heard across parts of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates amid rising regional tensions. A Reuters witness observed smoke and flames rising from the Palm Island area of the city. Authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.

Loud Bangs were heard Abu Dhabi and Doha, news agency Reuters cited witnesses. The cause of the explosions, however, are not known yet. 

The US embassy in Oman has instructed its staff and American citizens to take shelter “until further notice” because of “ongoing activity”. “Find a secure location within your residence or another safe building,” said a statement.

Israel and the US carried out an airstrike on Tuesday that targeted a key building in Iran associated with the body responsible for appointing the country’s next supreme leader. The strikes reportedly hit the Assembly of Experts building in Qom, south of Tehran.

Several repatriation services to Jeddah, Dubai, Muscat and other cities have been scheduled, while Gulf carriers have suspended regular operations due to airspace closures. Meanwhile, over 250 flights were cancelled at major Indian airports on Tuesday because of the crisis.

According to local Iranian media outlets, a passenger plane has been hit in a US-Israeli attack at Iran's Bushehr airport. However, official confirmation is awaited.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Tuesday issued its second statement on Iran situation. "There are almost one crore Indian citizens who live and work in the Gulf region. Their safety and well-being is of utmost priority. We cannot be impervious to any development that negatively affects them," the statement read. The MEA said as a country whose nationals are prominent in the global workforce, India is also firmly opposed to attacks on merchant shipping.

Already, some Indian nationals have lost their lives or are missing as a result of such attacks in the last few days, he added.

On Tuesday, Qatar's foreign ministry spokesperson said that there was currently no ongoing communication with Iran. The country said that it had not run out of its stockpile of interceptor missiles, adding that it had enough to deal with the ongoing threat.
