Iran War 2026: Amid the ongoing war between Iran and the joint forces of Israel and the US, social media has also emerged as another battlefield. While reacting to US President Donald Trump's claims of peace talks, Iranian embassies on Monday shared memes and blended sarcasm to mock him. The US president on Monday announced that peace talks are ongoing between America and Tehran, but Iranian authorities were quick to refute such claims. Iran's embassy in Kabul claimed that Trump has stepped back after being warned about potential retaliation in the region.
While responding to Trump's post on an alleged peace talk, the Iranian embassy in Kabul stated that Trump issued an order to postpone the attack after Tehran vowed a strong retaliation. "After the Islamic Republic threatened that in the event of any US attack on Iran's energy infrastructure, it would target the energy infrastructure of the entire region, Trump backed down and stated that he had issued an order to postpone the attack," it stated in its post on X (formerly Twitter).
Apart from this, Iran's consulate in Hyderabad also shared a TV clip, accusing the US president of making false statements. The Iranian embassy in Pretoria posted an image showing the Strait of Hormuz filled with American ships (in coffin shape) covered in American flags. Israeli media condemned it by alleging that the post was not only satire but a larger message; however, South Africa's government has not issued any statement yet.
Iran's consulate in Hyderabad also posted an image of a tree, claiming that the history of Israel is younger than the age of the tree. "The history of the entity is less than the age of trees inside Iran's Consulate in Hyderabad," it stated in the caption. The war has already entered its fourth week, with no signs of immediate peace in the region.
