US-Israel-Iran War LIVE: Trump Calls On Allied Nations To Send Warships To Secure Hormuz; Drone Attack Disrupts Fujairah Oil Hub

Iran-Israel War Live Updates: The war between Iran and the combined forces of Israel and the United States, which was triggered by the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has now entered its 15th day. The leaders of Iran, Israel, and the United States all remain defiant, vowing to continue the fight as the war in the Middle East reached the two-week mark on Friday. Thousands have lost their lives, millions more have had their lives upended, and financial markets have been deeply shaken.

In his first public statement since taking office, Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei pledged, through a television address on Thursday, to maintain the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. He also called on neighbouring nations to close US military bases within their borders, warning that failure to comply would leave them at risk of Iranian retaliation.

"I assure everyone that we will not neglect avenging the blood of your martyrs," said the hardline cleric, who is close to Iran's top military force. It was not clear why he did not appear in person.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held his first press conference since the US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran commenced on February 28. Speaking via video link, Netanyahu issued a thinly veiled threat against Khamenei while defending the ongoing military campaign.

"I will not detail the actions we are taking. We are creating the optimal conditions for toppling the regime, but I won't deny that I can't tell you with all certainty that the people of Iran will topple the regime – a regime is toppled from the inside," Netanyahu said. "But we can definitely help, and we are helping."

In an effort to stabilise the global energy market, the U.S. announced on Thursday that it would issue a 30-day licence for countries to purchase Russian oil and petroleum products that had been stranded at sea.

"The temporary rise in oil prices is a short-term disruption, but it will ultimately lead to a long-term benefit for our nation and economy," Bessent said, echoing previous statements from President Donald Trump.

Trump, who has already declared that the US and Israel have won the war, stated that the United States stood to profit significantly from the increase in oil prices, driven by supply disruptions resulting from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping route through which a fifth of the world’s oil normally passes.

The death toll has now surpassed 2,000, the majority of which are in Iran. Nearly 700 have died in Lebanon, where Israel has launched strikes on central Beirut and evacuated large areas of the southern region as part of an offensive against the Iran-backed Hezbollah group, according to Reuters.

Reports have also surfaced of drones entering Kuwait, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Oman, undermining claims from the US and Israel that they have successfully neutralised much of Iran’s long-range weapon stockpile. In Iraq, US Central Command confirmed that rescue operations were underway after one of its refuelling aircraft was downed in an incident involving another aircraft. They stated the incident was not caused by either hostile or friendly fire.

US Israel Iran War: UAE's Key Oil Hub Fujairah Hit By Drone Attack, Loading Paused

Some oil-loading operations in Fujairah, a key global bunkering hub and crude export terminal in the United Arab Emirates, were suspended on Saturday following a drone attack and fire, according to industry and trade sources.

The disruption came just hours after the United States struck military targets on Kharg Island in Iran. In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that US interests in the UAE, including ports, docks and military facilities, could be considered legitimate targets. Located outside the Strait of Hormuz, Fujairah serves as the export outlet for about 1 million barrels per day of the UAE’s Murban crude, accounting for roughly 1 per cent of global oil demand.

Khamenei assumed the role of Supreme Leader on March 8, following the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed on the first day of the war.

US 'Allows' Purchase Of Stranded Russian Oil;What Does It Mean?

The United States has issued a 30-day temporary license allowing countries to purchase Russian oil and petroleum products that are currently stranded at sea. According to the US Treasury department’s statement, the license authorises the delivery and sale of Russian crude oil and petroleum products loaded on vessels on or before March 12. The sale will remain valid until April 1.

This temporary license could influence global oil prices as it increases the availability of supply in the international market. If countries start purchasing the stranded Russian oil, it may ease immediate supply shortages and help prevent a sharp rise in prices. However, since the license is limited to 30 days, its long-term impact on global oil prices may be limited.

Trump Administration Denounces CNN News Channel For Airing Messages From Iranian leaders

The Trump administration denounced CNN on Thursday for airing a portion of the new Iranian supreme leader's public statement, the second time in three days that he's targeted the network for reporting on how the regime is responding to the American attacks.

The attack illustrated the care news outlets must take in reporting during wartime, and the responsibilities of American journalists to report the perspective of countries its government views as enemies. It also exposed inconsistencies.

The message of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei during his first public statement since he succeeded his father, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike, was widely available elsewhere.

The White House said on social media that "fake news CNN just aired four straight minutes of uninterrupted Iranian state TV, run by the same psychotic and murderous regime that prided itself on brutally slaughtering Americans for 47 years."
