The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has released a video featuring its newly formed women’s combat unit, the Karima Armed Assault Division (KAAD). The group has also claimed that nine Pakistani military personnel were killed, and several others injured in two attacks amid ongoing political unrest in Balochistan.
Female Commander Seen Briefing Fighters
The video, which has emerged online shows a female commander briefing KAAD fighters before an attack on a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) convoy in Turbat. The footage also shows women fighters taking part in training and preparing for operations.
Attack On Military Convoy In Turbat
According to the BLF, KAAD fighters attacked a QRF convoy on the CPEC road in the Josak area of Turbat. The video shows fighters firing at a military vehicle convoy from close range. The group claimed that the attack caused deaths and injuries among Pakistani military personnel. However, these claims have not been independently verified.
A separate footage shows KAAD members stopping vehicles and conducting snap checks in the Mangchar area of Kalat. The group said this was the unit’s second operation. According to the BLF, it developed KAAD into an organised combat unit after years of training and preparation. The group said its armed struggle was linked to allegations of enforced disappearances and rights violations in Balochistan.
Baloch Leaders Thank International Media
Earlier on August 11, Baloch leader Mir Yar Baloch had called on countries to recognise Balochistan as an independent country. In a statement marking Balochistan’s Independence Day, Mir said the struggle has now moved beyond celebrating independence. He emphasised that the movement now seeks legal, political, diplomatic, and moral recognition from the international community.
Describing Pakistan’s political and military presence in the region as "cancer-like”, Balochistan had thanked international media, especially Indian media, along with researchers, think tanks, writers, poets, students, lawyers, civil society members, business groups, religious leaders and parliamentarians for raising the issue of Balochistan.
