United States President Donald Trump has added 24-year-old White House correspondent Beni Rae Harmony to his communications team as an assistant press secretary and spokesperson. Her appointment comes as Trump continues to search for a replacement for former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Beni Rae Harmony Joins Team Trump
According to reports, Harmony has been hired for the new role and is expected to begin work on Monday. She has recently become a regular presence in the White House press pool and also travelled to Ireland with Donald Trump. TMZ earlier reported that Trump was seen carrying a document with the name “Beni Rae Harmony” printed prominently at the top on September 13.
Who Is Beni Rae Harmony?
According to her LinkedIn profile, Beni Rae Harmony is a TV anchor, reporter and producer with more than three years of experience in broadcast journalism. She has worked closely with members of Congress and a former US national security adviser, giving her experience in government, policy and global security.
She began her journalism career at 18 while studying full-time and has experience in reporting, writing, live television production, camera work and investigative journalism. Harmony joined Real America’s Voice in September 2025 after leaving a news anchor position in Springfield, Illinois. According to TMZ, she had been suspended from that role after delivering an emotional on-air tribute to Charlie Kirk following his killing.
Harmony Announces New Role
Harmony also confirmed her appointment in a post on X on Friday. She wrote, “I’m excited to announce that I am joining the Trump Administration as Asst. White House Press Secretary. It’s been an honor to report, travel, and cover this historic administration as Senior White House Correspondent for Real America’s Voice. My goal has always been to ask the questions that matter to real Americans and make sure their voices are heard.”
She added, “I’m incredibly grateful to President Trump for this opportunity and his trust. I’m looking forward to this next chapter - serving the American people and continuing to fight for the American Dream. America First.”
Search For Press Secretary Continues
Harmony’s appointment comes as Trump is yet to announce who will permanently replace Karoline Leavitt as White House press secretary. Leavitt had stepped down from her role on August 13. Addressing her reason for stepping down, Leavitt explained that balancing motherhood with one of the most demanding jobs in the world had become an overwhelming challenge after welcoming her daughter in May 2026.
