The attack, which targeted tourists, resulted in the tragic loss of at least 20 lives and left many others injured. President Trump took to his Truth Social platform to condemn the attack and reaffirm the United States’ solidarity with India.

"Deeply disturbing news out of Kashmir. The United States stands strong with India against terrorism. We pray for the souls of those lost, and for the recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Modi, and the incredible people of India, have our full support and deepest sympathies. Our hearts are with you all!" Trump wrote, underscoring the US’s commitment to fighting terrorism alongside its ally, India.

White House Reacts To Pahalgam Terror Attack

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed the tragedy, stating that President Trump had been briefed by the National Security Advisor and is being kept informed as more details emerge.

"What we know already is that dozens were killed and even more were injured in a brutal terrorist attack in a popular tourist location in South Kashmir," Leavitt said. She added that President Trump would be speaking with Prime Minister Narendra Modi "as soon as he possibly can to express his heartfelt condolences for those lost, and our prayers are with those injured." Leavitt also emphasised that such horrific attacks were the very reason for the ongoing mission of those who work for peace and stability in the world.

US Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance Extend Condolences

Earlier, US Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Second Lady Usha Vance, also expressed their condolences following the tragic event in Pahalgam. In a message posted on X, Vice President Vance offered thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families. "Usha and I extend our condolences to the victims of the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India. Over the past few days, we have been overcome with the beauty of this country and its people. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn this horrific attack," Vance wrote, reflecting the emotional impact the tragedy had on the US leadership.
