As the US-Iran war continues, Tehran once again has announced its closure of the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday. The Islamic Republic claimed that the repeated breaches of trust by the US have led to its immediate closure. The Strait of Hormuz will now be under strict control of the Iranian Navy.

Iran has clarified that this ban will remain in place until the US lifts the blockade on its ports. It has also established a new protocol for future passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Under this protocol, ships that pay a security fee will be given priority access to the Strait of Hormuz.

Following this, 27 ships attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz were forced to turn back, while eight managed to leave. Trump warned that Tehran could not blackmail the US by closing the Strait of Hormuz.

The ceasefire expires on Wednesday, April 22nd. No official announcement has been made regarding the date of talks between the two sides. However, Iran has claimed to have received a new peace proposal from the US. However, the details of this proposal have not been disclosed.

What Did Mojtaba Say?

Iran's Supreme Leader: Meanwhile, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said in a statement that Iran's navy is fully prepared to inflict a new defeat on its enemies. Meanwhile, the US military has said that oil tankers belonging to Iran could be seized in international waters in the coming days.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called for the opening of the Strait of Hormuz in a post on Instagram on Friday, a move welcomed by Trump.

However, Trump later wrote on Truth Social that even if Iran opened the Strait of Hormuz, the US Navy blockade on ships leaving Iranian ports would continue until a 100 per cent peace agreement was reached with Tehran.

Following Trump's statement, Iran threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz on Friday. According to Reuters, Iran's Joint Military Command said on Saturday that the Strait of Hormuz is now under the strict control of the armed forces and that navigation through the Strait will remain disrupted as long as the US blockade of Iranian ports continues.

Iran had previously permitted a small number of oil tankers and merchant ships to cross the Strait of Hormuz during ongoing talks with the United States, according to a military command spokesman. But the US is not abstaining from betraying confidence, necessitating the implementation of strict safeguards.

In the meantime, shipping companies have been told by the IRGC Navy to depend solely on information about the Strait of Hormuz that has been made public by the Revolutionary Guard. Trump's remarks are void because he has no authority over this waterway.

According to the New York Times, Trump, infuriated by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, said on Saturday that talks with Iran are continuing, but the US will maintain a tough stance. "We're having very good talks, but they're being cunning as usual," Trump said.

Iran has nothing left, but we are talking to them. He expressed displeasure over Tehran's new stance on the Strait of Hormuz, saying that for the past 47 years, Iran has been showing dominance in the region.

He also alleged that Iran has caused the loss of many lives, especially American citizens. According to Trump, Washington is in no mood to relax any agreements while negotiations continue and will maintain a tough stance to protect its interests.

Iran has stated that it is examining new suggestions from the United States but will not compromise its stance in the negotiations, according to the Associated Press. According to a statement from the Supreme National Security Council, Washington has recently made some additional recommendations that are being considered but have not yet received a definitive answer.
