Six US Congressmen have written a letter to new Attorney General Pam Bondi, urging him to investigate the previous Department of Justice's (DoJ) decision to indict Adani Group officials. The lawmakers questioned the previous administrator's motive behind the action, adding that they wanted to know why the Indian authorities were not allowed to handle the matter.
US lawmakers Lance Gooden, Pat Fallon, Mike Haridopolos, Brandon Gill, William R. Timmons, and Brian Babin stated that the "unwise decision" from the Biden administration could have potentially damaged the relationship between India and America.
They stated that such actions against a "strategic geopolitical partner" like India were not wise. The Biden administration last November alleged that the Adani Group was involved in business wrongdoings. However, the Adani Group had debunked the allegations by labeling them as baseless.

"This case rests on the allegation that preparations were made by members of this company in India to bribe Indian officials, also exclusively located in India. Instead of deferring the case to the appropriate Indian authorities, the Biden DoJ decided to push forward and indict the company's executives without any real injury to US interests being present," the Congressmen said.
'Donald Trump Will Revive The Relations'
The congressmen stated that President Trump will give opportunities to the businessmen who can add value to the US economy. They added that "unnecessary" actions against the businessmen send the wrong message and could harm the business ties. They also said that the action against the investors demotivates them from investing in the US market, potentially damaging American partnerships.

Biden DOJ's Conducted Should Be Investigated—Congressmen
They further urged the Attorney General to investigate the reasons behind the action. They claimed that the action from the Biden administration was politically motivated, and it could damage the years of effort of maintaining the business ties. "We request you investigate the Biden DOJ's conduct and would appreciate you sharing with us all records pertaining to this case for a coordinated effort in uncovering the truth," Congressmen stated.
