During a military exercise in Norway, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte confirmed that alliance members are actively coordinating on the "best way" to restore transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday signalled a possibility of intensifying military action against Iran. In a post on Truth Social, the US President wrote, "I wonder what would happen if we 'finished off' what's left of the Iranian Terror State, and let the Countries that use it, we don't, be responsible for the so called 'Strait?' That would get some of our non-responsive 'Allies' in gear, and fast!!!"

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday confirmed that Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib was killed in Israeli airstrikes. "The cowardly assassination of my dear colleagues Ismail Khatib, Ali Larijani, and Aziz Nasirzadeh, alongside some of their family members and accompanying team, has left us in deep mourning," he wrote on X.

"I extend my condolences to the great people of Iran for the martyrdom of two cabinet members, the secretary of the Shura, and the military and Basij commanders. I am certain their path will continue more steadfastly than before," Pezeshkian added.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps on Wednesday issued evacuation warnings to people near oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, Al Jazeera reported Iranian state media. 

"Immediately leave these areas and move to a safe distance without any delay," the IRGC said.

Iran's political system remains unaffected despite military strikes and assassinations of senior officials, Al Jazeera quoted Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi as saying.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has a strong political structure with established political, economic, and social institutions,” Araghchi said, regarding the IDF's assassination of senior Iranian official Ali Larijani on Tuesday.

“The presence or absence of a single individual does not affect this structure.”

US President Donald Trump, in a post on Truth Social on Wednesday, said he was wondering what might happen if the US decided to “finish off what is left of” Iran.

In a post on Truth Social, the US President said, "I wonder what would happen if we 'finished off' what’s left of the Iranian Terror State, and let the Countries that use it, we don’t, be responsible for the so called “Straight?” That would get some of our non-responsive “Allies” in gear, and fast!!!"

"Remember, for all of those absolute “fools' out there, Iran is considered, by everyone, to be the NUMBER ONE STATE SPONSOR OF TERROR," Trump added.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that its facilities were targeted by 13 missiles and 27 drones on Wednesday, adding that since the start of Iranian attacks, the UAE has dealt with a total of 327 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,699 drones.

Iran on Wednesday held funeral ceremonies for Ali Larijani, the country’s top security official, and Gholamreza Soleimani, the chief of the Basij forces, who were killed in the US-Israeli air strikes, according to Press TV.

Turkey's Defence Ministry on Wednesday said that NATO is deploying another US Patriot missile defence system to the southern Turkish province of Adana. Personnel from the United States and other countries are located in the Incirlik Air Base.

News agency AP reported, citing Iran's judiciary that an 'attack' struck southern Iran, killing and wounding civilians, and judicial staff.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in an interview with Al-Jazeera, said that Iran does not believe in a ceasefire. "We do not believe in a ceasefire; we believe in ending the war. Iran will hold a funeral for its security chief, Ali Larijani on Wednesday in Tehran. Larijani was killed in Israeli airstrikes on Tuesday. According to Iran's Fars and Tasnim news agencies, funerals for Larijani and Gholamreza Soleimani will take place in Tehran from 10:30 GMT.

Israel’s Health Ministry on Wednesday stated that 192 people have been admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours. Four poeople are moderately wounded, while others have mild injuries.

According to Al Jazeera, in a post on X, the ministry said 3,727 people have been admitted to hospitals with injuries since the war began.

A Pakistani commercial oil tanker, the MT Karachi, has successfully transitioned through Iranian-controlled waters in the Strait of Hormuz, according to a report from PTI citing official sources. The vessel is transporting approximately 109,990 tonnes of crude oil and is expected to arrive at Karachi Port on Wednesday.

Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) on Tuesday confirmed the killing of Gholamreza Soleimani, the commander of Iran's Basij Unit. According to the Jerusalem Post, the IDF confirmed the death of the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Basij paramilitary militia, Gholamreza Soleimani, and his deputy, Seyyed Karishi. As per the report, the two were killed in a makeshift tent area, which had been set up to make it harder to follow them as opposed to in a known headquarters. Providing the details in a post on X, the IDF said that under Soleimani, the Basij Unit employed severe violence and the use of force against civilian demonstrators.
