Iran Crisis: Amid the ongoing war with Israel and US, Iran is reportedly close to choosing its next Supreme Leader following death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. While providing details, an official stated that the nation is soon likely to choose the next Supreme Leader. One of the frontrunners is former Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's son Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei. The announcement of the new supreme leader will put a full stop on the reports of leadership crisis in Iran.
Mojtaba is Ali Khamenei's second son and is well connected to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). He also served in the Iranian armed forces during the Iran-Iraq War. His father reportedly did not want Mojtaba to take the post, as a father-son succession is not welcomed in the Shiite Muslim clerical establishment.

As per the reports, Mojtaba tied the knot with Zahra Haddad-Adel back in 2004 and has three children together. While details of their children have not been disclosed, Zahra was reportedly killed in the recent attacks by the US and Israel. She was the daughter of Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, a senior politician and former chairman of the Parliament.
Mojtaba Khamenei's Net Worth
While his exact net worth has not been disclosed, as per a Bloomberg report, he is believed to be a multi-millionaire, with properties in Western nations. While questioning Mojtaba's investments in the UK, Ben Cowdock, a senior investigations lead at Transparency International UK, stated that the property market should not welcome the oppressors.
"It’s increasingly clear that those close to Iran’s political leaders have invested heavily in the UK. Our property market should not serve as a safe deposit box for cronies who finance repressive regimes," Cowdock stated.
