The world has witnessed another war on Saturday after the self-proclaimed "peacemaker" US President Donald Trump, along with Israel, launched a massive attack on Iran. Although Trump has been desperately claiming his right to have the Nobel Peace Prize as he made the world a "peaceful place", the result seems a total disaster. The whole world is facing the fallout of the Middle East crisis, especially after the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and dozens of other senior figures. This furious move of Israel and the US has expanded a tension between the two states into a wider regional war.

But why are the Middle East countries plunged into chaos? Who is responsible for the chaos in the region? These are the questions that artificial intelligence platforms like ChatGPT and Grok are getting in millions.

The answer is not as simple as it sounds-- the US and Israel attacked Iran to stop Tehran from securing nuclear weapons.

Why does Israel attack Iran?

Israel sees Iran as an existential threat and has long sought to end its nuclear and ballistic missile programs. Besides Iran's nuclear program, which is yet to be exposed publicly in a full-fledged manner, Israel's intention also lies in targeting armed allied groups like Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon. These two groups are considered a loyal proxy group of Tehran. For years, it has been alleged that the Iranian top leadership is funding the proxy groups in order to destabilise Jerusalem.

Besides historical facts, Israel considers the latest attacks in response to Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack on Israel that started the war in Gaza.

Why is the US involved in the Israel-Iran war?

The United States has a long interest in Iran, amid the fact that the region has an abundance of crude oil and other vital minerals. Like Iraq and Venezuela, this attempt is widely considered as a quest to capture the oil industry of Iran; although Trump claimed he has eliminated the worst terror module in the world, despite the fact that no other countries have raised concerns with Tehran. Trump also claimed Iran is developing nukes that could eventually land on American territory, if not stopped immediately.

When will Israel-US-Iran war end?

Trump has said the "heavy and pinpoint bombing" in Iran would continue through the week or longer. He boasted America's arm and ammunition stockpile in a recent post on his social media post. His second in command, Vice President JD Vance, said it would not go for years and years, unlike Iraq. Meanwhile, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, had initially hinted that the conflict will go for years but today he rejected the idea of the conflict a lasting years, like previous wars in the region. "I said it could be quick and decisive. It may take some time, but it's not going to take years. It's not an endless war," Netanyahu said on Fox News. However, he hinted his decade-old stance- the war will goes on until the mission accomplished.
