Belora Airport, located 15 kilometres from Amravati, has been developed by the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC). The facility features a new 1,800×50 metre runway and essential safety features, including a Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI).
MADC Vice-Chairperson and Managing Director Swati Pandey inspected the airport last week, referring to the launch as "a new era" for the aviation sector in Maharashtra. She noted that the airport was initially developed in 1992 for non-scheduled operations but has now been transformed into a fully operational commercial hub with support from the UDAN programme and the state government.
