Baba Siddique Murder: A 22-year-old tailor identified as Raj Kanojia sustained a bullet injury in the leg when Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai’s Bandra area. The tailor said that he would be out of action for two months.

Expressing the ordeal, Kanojia said that the injury makes it difficult for him to contribute to his sister’s wedding, scheduled for February. The tailor said that the incident took place when he was taking part in Dussehra activities and was out for pandal hopping with friends.

“It was the day of Dussehra and the day of immersion, and we usually finish work at 5 PM. We are tailors. We had gone out to visit the temple and, on our way back, stopped at a place where juice was being sold. While we were there, we heard a loud noise from behind and initially thought it was firecrackers. I felt something hit my leg and thought it was a firecracker. But when I looked down, I saw blood. Suddenly, chaos erupted,” Kanojia was quoted as saying by the news agency IANS.

Kanojia is currently undergoing treatment at Bhabha Hospital in Bandra. He expressed regret for not being able to attend his sister’s wedding in this condition. “Ab is halat me mai toh kuch kama nahi paunga. Kuch mahino mei shaadi hai sister ki. Aap kuch help kara do. (I won’t be able to earn anything in this condition. My sister’s wedding is approaching. Please help),” News 18 quoted Kanojia as saying.
