Maharashtra Weather: A new weather system forming in the Bay of Bengal is expected to bring slight changes to Maharashtra’s conditions over the next few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has noted that a low-pressure area is likely to develop on November 22 and may intensify into a depression by November 24. The system could strengthen further into Cyclone Senyar around November 25–26.

Maharashtra Weather: Light Rain Likely In THESE Districts

Meteorologists say the developing system is already pushing moisture towards Maharashtra’s coastal belt. Light rain is expected in parts of Konkan, including Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Mumbai, between November 23 and 24. The rainfall is likely to be mild, but it may signal an end to the long dry spell in the region.

Maharashtra Weather: THESE Districts To See Gradual Change In Temperature

Interior parts of the state, which have been experiencing very low night temperatures, will also see a gradual change. Minimum temperatures in Pune, Nashik and Marathwada are rising by 2–4 degrees Celsius as warmer winds and increased moisture move in. Pune, which recently recorded single-digit minimums in a few areas, will have milder nights in the coming days. Cloud cover associated with the system is also preventing the sharp overnight cooling seen last week.

Cyclone Impacts On Mumbai And Pune

Mumbai is not expected to face any major impact from the developing cyclone. The city may see cloudy skies, a slight rise in night temperatures and higher humidity. Rainfall chances remain low, and the overall effect on daily activities is expected to be minimal. The late-November weather may feel warmer and more humid than usual for this time of the year.

Pune will also see partly cloudy skies and warmer nights. Only a very light drizzle is possible. The city continues to move out of the recent cold phase due to the added moisture in the atmosphere.

Southern Maharashtra, including Solapur, Sangli and Kolhapur, may receive light showers between November 22 and 24. Farmers in these districts have been advised to follow IMD updates closely.

No severe weather warnings have been issued for Mumbai or Pune so far, and officials will continue to monitor the system as it develops.
