Cyclone Update: A fresh low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal on November 22 and early forecasts indicate that it may intensify into a depression in the central Bay of Bengal before developing into a cyclone by November 26. Meteorologists expect this weather system to strengthen quickly as it moves north or northwest, potentially turning into a severe cyclone by November 28.

At the same time, another low-pressure system has developed over the South Andaman Sea. This system is also expected to move in a west-northwest direction and may intensify further by November 24, becoming a depression over the southeast Bay of Bengal. According to forecasts, it may strengthen further and reach the southwest Bay of Bengal within the next 48 hours.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has noted that both systems have the potential to intensify into depressions and later into cyclones over the coming days. Early estimates also suggest that the system may influence the weather along the Odisha coast.

Cyclone Forecasts: Experts Obervation

The Jagran.com report cited Meteorologist Professor Surendranath Pasupalak as stating that, a weak low-pressure system developed near Malacca on Friday. He explained that this system is likely to become a depression in the South Andaman Sea by November 24 and continue moving west-northwest. He added that another depression could form over the south-central Bay of Bengal around the same time, with the possibility of cyclone formation by 26 November.

Weather models indicate that the system could strengthen into a very severe cyclone by November 29–30 and move through the southwest and west-central Bay of Bengal. It may head towards the Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coasts. However, experts caution that predicting the exact landfall point or timing is difficult as the system is still developing and landfall remains several days away.
