Ajit Pawar Plane Crash: A chartered plane carrying Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar and four others crashed on Wednesday morning while attempting to land at Baramati Airport. Officials have confirmed that all five on board died in the tragic accident.

A local villager who witnessed the accident said that the plane exploded seconds after hitting the ground. Speaking to news agency ANI, he said, "I saw it with my eyes. This is really painful. When the aircraft descended, it seemed it would crash, and it did crash. It then exploded. There was a massive explosion.

"After that, we rushed here and saw that the aircraft was on fire. There were 4-5 explosions in the aircraft again. More people came here, and they tried to pull the people out (of the aircraft). But since this was a huge fire, people could not help. Ajit Pawar was onboard and this is really painful for us. I can't describe it in words..." he added.

He further stated that the plane carrying Pawar was flying towards the runway and fell 100 feet before approaching it.

Ajit Pawar Plane Crash

According to the news agency PTI, Pawar was travelling from Mumbai to Baramati to address four public meetings ahead of the upcoming Zilla Parishad elections when the plane crashed while landing at Baramati Airport.

All five on board, including Pawar, a personal security officer, an attendant, and two crew members, died in the accident. The plane took off from Mumbai and encountered difficulties during its landing, crashing at the Baramati Airport.

As news of Pawar’s death in the tragic plane crash spread, a wave of mourning gripped the political circles. His colleagues, party workers and well-wishers were seen in tears. NCP(SP) leader and Pawar’s cousin, Supriya Sule, expressed the shock over the tragic demise in a social media post, stating, "Devastated."
