Kurla Bus Accident: Preliminary investigation by police has revealed that the Electricity Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) driver did not receive proper training and pressed the accelerator when he had to apply brakes, causing the bus to speed up and crash into pedestrians and multiple vehicles in Mumbai’s Kurla West area on Monday night. The driver’s actions claimed at least seven lives and injured 43 others.

According to the investigating officials, the accused driver was on a contract and had joined the BEST on December 1. Regional Transport Office officials also said that the tragic accident occurred due to human error and insufficient training to operate an Electronic Vehicle (EV).

Kurla Bus Accident Details 

-The incident occurred when the driver of the BEST bus, on route 332, lost control of the vehicle and rammed into at least 30-40 vehicles near the congested Kurla railway station before crashing into the wall of a residential society, according to the police.

-The moment when the bus lost control and rammed into multiple vehicles in Mumbai’s Kurla was caught on surveillance cameras. The visuals that have now emerged, show the tragic turn of events in the blink of an eye.

-The CCTV video depicts a BEST bus navigating a narrow road, with vehicles parked on both sides. An autorickshaw is also parked along the side, with two young men engaged in conversation near it.

-As the BEST bus moves forward, another electric BEST bus speeds through the narrow passage, colliding with the auto and one of the individuals standing nearby. The out-of-control bus continues to crash into more vehicles on the road, injuring both the people inside the vehicles and those st nearb
