A woman and her three daughters were discovered hanging from the ceiling of their house in Bhiwandi, Maharastra. According to police, the incident took place on Saturday morning.
The 30-year-old mother was found hanging along with her three daughters aged 13, 11, and 8 respectively. According to news agency PTI, when the woman's husband got home from work in the morning, he discovered the bodies.
The police are investigating the matter from every possible aspect, including suicide.
"A mother and three girls were found dead inside a house in Kamatghar area of Thane district. We are investigating the matter to figure out whether the woman and her daughters committed suicide together or whether she killed the girls before hanging herself," senior police officer Krishnadev Kharade said.
According to a PTI report, the police have opened an inquiry and filed a case of accidental death.

In a separate incident, a couple in a live-in relationship, was found dead in a house in Dhaba village, Hanumangarh district, Rajasthan on Saturday. Police initiated an investigation into the case.
The police started a probe through different angles. The investigation officials said it is unclear if the man killed the woman before committing suicide in his house or it was a suicide act.
"Raju, 45, was found hanging in the room while Suman, 35, was lying on the floor. Prima facie, Raju committed suicide by hanging. While it is not clear whether he murdered Suman before taking the extreme step or she consumed poison," police said in a statement.
