A 21-year-old woman, Lavani dancer Pooja Devidas Gaikwad, was arrested on charges of abetment to suicide in the case of a 38-year-old married man who was found dead inside his car with a gunshot wound to the head in Maharashtra's Solapur district. The incident was initially registered as a suicide earlier.
According to the NDTV report, the car was found parked on Tuesday morning at Sasure village in Barshi Taluka in Solapur with a gun inside it, and the Vairag police later discovered that it was the same car after they were alerted about the vehicle in the area.

The Victim And Accused Relation
The victim, Govind Barge, a resident of Beed and a businessman by profession, was married and had two children. According to the report, he was in an extramarital affair with the accused, Pooja Gaikwad, who was a resident of Sasure village and a Lavani dancer associated with Pargaon Kala Kendra.
Accused Demanded Money
Police stated that Barge had allegedly given Gaikwad gold jewelry and a mobile phone valued at around Rs 2.5 lakh. In the days before his death, the two reportedly had frequent arguments. On Monday night, Govind is said to have gone to Pooja’s residence.
Govind’s brother-in-law Filed Police Complaint
After the incident, Govind’s brother-in-law, Laxman Jagannath Chavan, lodged a formal complaint with the Vairag police. In his statement, Chavan alleged that Gaikwad had been repeatedly extorting money from Govind, threatening to accuse him of rape. He also mentioned that the two had not been in touch recently, and Govind had been distressed due to this ongoing harassment.

Following the complaint, police arrested Pooja Gaikwad on charges of abetment to suicide. However, the victim’s family has expressed strong doubts about the suicide theory, claiming that the incident may in fact be a case of murder.
