Shiv Sena Supremo Eknath Shinde would be taking oath as deputy chief minister of Maharashtra at the swearing-in ceremony here on Thursday evening, his party colleague Uday Samant informed ahead of the swearing-in ceremony.

"Eknath Shinde is set to take oath as deputy chief minister. We had a discussion with Devendra Fadnavis, who provided us with a letter confirming that Shinde will join him as deputy CM. I am here to submit it to the governor," Samant told reporters outside the Raj Bhavan before meeting Governor CP Radhakrishnan.

NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal said ministers from the Mahayuti allies in Maharashtra will take oath in a week's time. Fadnavis would be taking oath along with two deputy chief ministers no other minister will take oath today, a BJP leader said. Bhujbal said after the swearing-in of the chief minister and two deputy CMs, they will sit together and discuss the cabinet formation.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday arrived in Mumbai to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Maharashtra CM-designate Devendra Fadnavis and said that Maharashtra will progress at twice the speed.

"I extend my greeting to Devendra Fadnavis. I feel proud today that the NDA Government is in power once again in Maharashtra. He has been elected as the CM of Maharashtra for the third time. Best wishes to him. Maharashtra will progress with twice the speed," Sawant told reporters.

Shiv Sena leader Uday Samant on Thursday said that no leader of his party will accept any ministerial post if their supremo Eknath Shinde will not accept the Dy CM's post.,

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be attending the oath taking ceremony of CM and Dy CMs of Maharashtra, Besides PM Modi, 2,000 VVIPs, including leaders from various religions, and 40,000 BJP supporters will also witness the grand event.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Rauton Thursday hit out at former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde, who is set to take oath as Deputy CM today, and said that Shinde era is over and he will never be CM again.

"Shinde era is over, it was just for two years. His usage is now over and he has been tossed aside. Shinde will never be the CM of this state again. They (BJP) can even break Shinde's party, this has always been BJP's line in politics. They break and finish the party of those who work with them," Raut said.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat said, "Eknath Shinde will listen to our request and he will take oath as Deputy CM, we believe that...he is our leader and we want him to take the oath as Deputy CM...we all are going to Eknath Shinde, we will convince and get him ready for the oath-taking...",

Shiv Sena UBT MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Thursday launched a scathing attack at the Mahayuti alliance and said that it took 10 days for Mahayuti to decide the CM face, considering this, it is hoped that people of Maharashtra do not suffer because of the differences between the three parties (BJP-Shivsena-NCP).

"I wish the Chief Minister of Maharashtra all the best. I hope he lives up to all the commitments that he has made to the people of Maharashtra. It took the government over 10 days, to decide the CM face... Considering there are so many differences among the three, I hope that the people of Maharashtra do not suffer because of the differences that we see between the three parties. BJP's strategy has been to backstab its political allies whether it's Shiromani Akali Dal, Shiv Sena... They (BJP) use and throw as per their convenience..." Chaturvedi told ANI.

Maharashtra CM Oath-Taking: Congress MP Pramod Tiwari on Thursday said that the Mahayuti alliance is not forming government in the interest of the people. His remark came ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of Maharashtra Chief Minister designate Devendra Fadnavis.

"On 23rd (November) the results had come, they got a huge majority...there was some deep infighting and it took 11 days to solve that and declare the name of Devendra Fadnavis. If this is how it is beginning, the end will also be in a similar way...they (Mahayuti) are not forming govt in the interest of people," Tiwari told ANI in the national capital.

BJP leader Pradeep Bhandari launched a scathing attack at Maharashtra's Opposition alliance, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and referred to it as Maha Vinash Aghadi and said that the people of Maharashtra want to go forward with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Viksit Bharat'.

"It is a proud day in Maharashtra today. Devendra Fadnavis will take oath and two deputy CMs will also be taking oath. PM Modi is going to attend the oath ceremony which shows the victory of development. 'Maha Vinash Aghadi', which was trying to divide the society of Maharashtra...who was trying for vote jihad, this is a day for them to introspection. People of Maharashtra want to go forward with the vision of PM Modi's 'Viksit Bharat'," Bhandari told ANI.

Maharashtra CM Oath: The swearing-in ceremony of Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar will take place today at 5:30 PM at the Azad Maidan in Mumbai.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya congratulated Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar for their victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections.

"Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh share a very special relationship as many people from UP are staying in Maharashtra. The people of UP are very happy with the results of the Maharashtra Assembly elections and the formation of the Mahayuti government," Maurya said.
