Maharashtra election result: The result of the Maharashtra Assembly election has again demonstrated the influence of political dynasties, with candidates of the major political families retaining their seats.

While Shiv Sena candidate Nilesh Rane and his brother Nitesh Rane secured victories in the coastal regions of Sindhudurg, state minister Uday Samant and his brother Kiran Samant won in the Ratnagiri region. The Thackeray family continued its dominance in the Mumbai region. Nitesh Rane successfully retained his Kankavli seat in Sindhudurg district, and Nilesh Rane won in the neighbouring Kudal constituency. While Nilesh Rane defeated Vaibhav Naik of Shiv Sena (UBT) by a margin of 8,176 votes, Nitesh defeated his nearest rival Sandesh Parkar of Shiv Sena (UBT) by 58,007 votes. Narayan Rane, the Rane brothers' father and former Union minister, had also registered victory in the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year, continuing the family's political dominance in the region.

Amit Deshmukh, his elder brother, managed to win Latur city seat by defeating the BJP's candidate, Archana Patil Chakurkar.
