Maharashtra News: In a shocking and outrageous incident, class 8th students were beaten by a hostel monitor over a dirty toilet. A total of twelve boys, studying in class 8th of a private tribal boarding school, were beaten by the hostel monitor earlier this week for not cleaning the washroom properly.

The incident occurred in Talasari of Palghar district, Maharashtra, where a 21-year-old former student, who was living in the hostel as a hostel ‘Monitor’ hit students with a stick because they had not cleaned the washroom properly.

Gangaram Pathara, a 21-year-old student at a nearby Industrial Training Institute, was arrested after 12 Class 8 boys accused him of physically abusing them. Pathara, who was allowed to stay at the school hostel and acted as a monitor, allegedly beat the boys with sticks. He was taken into police custody for two days following the incident.

The information about children being hit at the residential school has sent a shockwave through p parents. Parents have expressed anger over the incident that their children were not just beaten, but they were also made to clean the toilet. 108 tribal students are admitted to the residential school.

Police are investigating who appointed the monitor and whether the school knew about the abuse. The incident came to light on October 7 when injured students told others about the beating, prompting many parents to rush to the school after hearing about it from news reports.
