Maharashtra Election 2025: Polling for 246 municipal councils and 42 nagar panchayats across Maharashtra will be held on December 2, State Election Commissioner Dinesh Waghmare announced on Tuesday.
The announcement came after years of delay in local body elections due to unresolved issues related to ward boundaries and reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs). With these matters now settled, the State Election Commission has cleared the way for the much-awaited polls.
A press conference has been scheduled for 4 PM today, where the commission shared more details about the election schedule and process.
