Navi Mumbai Fire: A massive fire has erupted in a chemical company in the MIDC Pawane area of Navi Mumbai. The firefighting operation to control the fire is underway. While the cause of the incident could not be ascertained yet, the initial speculations say that it could have been caused by a short circuit.

The incident took place at a chemical company named Bitachem in Mahape MIDC, an industrial area in Navi Mumbai, on Saturday afternoon. The fire was so massive that flames were bigger than high-rise buildings, and a plume of smoke was visible from a distance.

Bitchem is located at W-177 in Mahape MIDC. The sudden fire took a violent turn, possibly because of the large stock of chemicals inside the premises.

The operation is underway to get control of the situation, as at least 4 to 5 fire brigade vehicles have been sent to the location. No casualty has been reported so far.
