Maharashtra News: A complaint has been filed against a female tuition teacher in Maharashtra's Thane district for allegedly hitting a six-year-old girl for not writing properly. The incident took place at nearly 11:30 AM on Thursday in Sagaon village, and the teacher hit the student with a ruler scale.
She narrated the whole incident after coming back to home, following which her parents went to the police station and filed a complaint, according to the officials cited by PTI.
"The teacher, Sarika Ghag, hit the girl with a ruler scale and also hit her on her ears for not studying well and for being unable to write properly. After returning home, the child complained to her mother about the teacher. Her parents then approached the police and lodged a complaint," the official of Manpada police station was quoted as saying by PTI.
A complaint has also been filed against the teacher under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 118(1) (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
In another separate incident, that took place in Maharashtra's Akola district, a teacher was arrested for molesting six girl students and showing them obscene videos. The accused, identified as Pramod Manohar Sardar, who taught at the Zilla Parishad School in Kazikhed village, was taken into custody on Tuesday evening.
"We received a complaint regarding the molestation of six schoolgirls by their teacher, Pramod Manohar Sardar. He was immediately arrested, and the statements of the victimized girls have been recorded," said SP Bachchan Singh.
"There was a program in the school yesterday...After the program was over the teacher went to meet the students of class 7-8. Some 4-5 girls said that they were harassed, then we came to know about this, until then we were not aware of any such thing," said the principal of the school, Ravindra Samdur, as quoted by news agency ANI.
