The Central Railways has taken action against a passenger for using an electric kettle inside the train to cook Maggie, stating that the usage of such electronic machines inside trains is ‘strictly prohibited’ since it is unsafe, illegal and a punishable offence. The authorities further added that the usage of such machines can lead to incidents of fire inside the train.
“Passengers are advised to refrain from any such hazardous behaviour. If they notice any such activity, they are requested to report it immediately to the concerned authorities to ensure safety,” the Central Railways further wrote on its official X (formerly Twitter) account.
This is a major safety hazard and can cause fire endangering lives of all onboard. That's why we cannot have good things. Many will misuse the facilities and then be proud of it. Most lack civil sense. pic.twitter.com/JSRCpIXPW9

Many will misuse the facilities and then be proud of it. Most lack civil sense," the user added.
Another user supported the woman and said, "How? DC Electricity is supplied in trains. You can charge laptops, so how is this dangerous?" Another user recalled an old incident and wrote, "Many years ago, on a train ride from Chennai to Tatanagar, a family performed pooja and burnt agarbatti, camphor. I told the TC, and he warned them. That was before the era of the internet. Nothing has changed since; people still lack all sense."

Netizens posted their concerns about why electronic gadgets like kettles aren’t prohibited on trains, while others argued that many passengers assume a ticket gives them the freedom to behave however they like inside a coach.
Indian Railways has put out a list of belongings on its official website which can be taken on board by passengers.
