Maharashtra Shocker: A shocking incident from Maharashtra has come to light, where a 19-year-old woman gave birth to a baby boy on a running bus in Maharashtra’s Parbhani and then allegedly threw the newborn out of the bus with the help of a man claiming to be her husband. The baby boy died after being thrown off the bus, police said. The shocking incident occurred at around 6:30 AM on Tuesday on the Pathri-Selu Road.
The residents were shocked to spot a newborn boy being thrown out of the moving bus. Upon confrontation, the couple told the bus driver that the woman had vomited out of the window as she felt nauseous because of travelling in the bus.
The residents informed the police officials about the incident. Police chased the bus and held the couple. The couple identified as Ritika Dhere and Altaf Shaikh were travelling to Parbhani from Pune in a sleeper coach of Sant Prayag Travels. During their journey, the woman experienced labour pain and gave birth to the baby boy on the moving bus.

“A woman, identified as Ritika Dhere, was travelling to Parbhani from Pune along with Altaf Shaikh, who claimed to be her husband, in the sleeper coach bus of Sant Prayag Travels. During their journey, the woman, who was pregnant, started experiencing labour pains and gave birth to a baby boy. However, the couple put the baby in a piece of cloth and threw him out of the vehicle,” news agency PTI quoted an official as saying.
The couple committed their crime to the police and said that they did so as they were unable to raise the child. According to the police, the couple hailed from Parbhani and had been living in Pune for the past one and a half years. Though the couple claimed to be married, but failed to show the documents.
“After taking them into custody, the police rushed the woman to a hospital for treatment,” an official said. The police have filed a case against the couple at the Pathri police station in Parbhani under Section 94 (3) and (5) of the new BNS law, which deals with hiding a birth by secretly getting rid of the baby’s body. Further investigation is underway, and the couple have been given a legal notice.
