A tragic accident occurred on National Highway 53 in Akola, Maharashtra, where three people lost their lives. After a cab broke down near Kurundkhed village, the passengers got out and were waiting for another vehicle to help tow it.
This incident took place last night when a couple was returning home from Borgaon Manju town. Apart from the couple, the driver and his associate were also in the cab.
The deceased have been identified as 35-year-old Dheeraj Sarsath, 30-year-old Ashwini Sarsath, and 28-year-old cab driver Arif Khan. The fourth person, the driver’s companion, sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to Akola District Hospital.
A speeding unidentified vehicle ran over them. The incident took place last night when a couple was returning home from Borgaon Manju town along with the cab driver and his companion.
As per police reports, all four individuals were trying to drag the cab with the help of a cargo vehicle when the accident happened.
According to the police, the cab suddenly broke down in the middle of the highway near Kurundkhed village. All the occupants stepped out of the car and began waiting for another vehicle to help tow the cab. While they were doing so, a speeding vehicle ran over all of them.
The driver’s associate was seriously injured and has been admitted to the district hospital in Akola.
After the collision, the vehicle that caused the accident fled the scene. The police are currently searching for the vehicle and the driver, but no clues have been found yet.
