Maharashtra Weather: IMD Issues Yellow Alert as Cold Wave Hits North Madhya, Marathwada | Check Forecast

Maharashtra Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for nearly a dozen districts in Maharashtra, with North Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada being the worst affected. A cold wave warning remains in force for these areas until 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Several districts in North Madhya Maharashtra, including Nashik, Nandurbar, Dhule, Jalgaon, and parts of Ahmednagar, are experiencing a sharp fall in minimum temperatures. Marathwada districts such as Beed, Latur, and Nanded are also witnessing cold conditions, with some areas recording minimum temperatures 5–6°C below normal. Nagpur recorded 9.6°C on November 16, the lowest in the state, followed by Nashik at 10.1°C, the lowest in central Maharashtra.

Maharashtra Cold Wave Alert Districts 

The IMD has flagged at least ten districts under a cold wave alert until Tuesday morning. These include Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nashik, Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, and Gondia.

Mumbai And Pune Weather Update 

In Mumbai and Pune, temperatures have dropped, prompting residents to bring out sweaters and warm clothing. Several districts, including Pune, remain under a cold wave alert, and the chilly conditions are expected to persist across the state over the next two days.

Jalgaon recorded the lowest minimum temperature over the weekend at 8.7 Degree Celsius,  six degrees below average. Nashik, Ahmednagar, Jalna, Beed, Hingoli, and Nanded are also expected to face similar cold wave conditions.    

Maharashtra Weather Forecast

The five-day weather forecast for Maharashtra indicates a cold wave is likely in isolated pockets of North Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada on November 17. Dry weather is expected across the state from November 18 to 20, although minimum temperatures are likely to remain lower than usual in the affected districts. Residents are advised to take precautions against the cold and stay updated with local weather reports.
