Maharashtra Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday stated that several districts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai and Pune, are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days. The weather department stated that while the coastal regions are likely to witness heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds, the other districts are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall. The IMD stated that the rainfall will reduce the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius, providing major relief from the scorching heat. It also advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Mumbai, Pune, Thane, and Raigad, are likely to receive heavy rainfall along with gusty winds for the next few days. Apart from this, the interior districts like Dhule, Nandurbar, Nasik, and Jalgaon are expected to witness light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms till June 17. It further stated that while the rainfall will reduce the temperature, it will lead to other issues such as waterlogging and power outages.
The weather department stated that several areas of Pune, including Aundh, Bopodi, Pashan, Soos, Mahalunge, Kothrud, and Bavdhan, are expected to receive heavy rainfall till June 17. These regions have witnessed rainfall for the last few days, leading to waterlogging.

The IMD has advised the residents of the coastal regions to limit their financial activities to avoid any inconveniences. Apart from this, the weather department stated that the northern states are likely to witness severe heat for a few more days. It informed that the maximum temperature in several states, including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana, is likely to be calculated around 45 degrees Celsius.
