Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh has directed all departments to intensify pre-monsoon flood preparedness, stating that monsoon is likely to enter eastern UP by June 20 and western UP by June 25, as per the Meteorological Department’s forecast. He emphasised that no negligence in flood management and relief work will be tolerated, and instructed officials to ensure village-level micro-mapping and 24/7 operation of flood control rooms.

In a video conference with Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates on Friday, Singh ordered that all flood posts be operational by June 20, and that mock drills at the tehsil level be held on June 26 across all 44 flood-sensitive districts. He stressed timely coordination with NDRF, SDRF, and PAC teams, and said their accommodation arrangements must be completed in advance.

Additionally, inspection and repair of embankments and vulnerable villages must be concluded by June 20. Districts still pending tender processes for relief kits, cooked food, toilets, and sanitation were told to complete them immediately.

Relief Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami shared that 44 districts, 118 tehsils, over 2,500 villages and 5,600 hamlets in the state are flood-sensitive. For the first time in two decades, micromapping using remote sensing technology has been conducted for improved flood response.

The Chief Secretary also reviewed preparations for International Yoga Day. With this year’s theme being "Yoga for One Earth, One Health", he said Yoga Week will be observed from June 15 to 21 at district, tehsil, block, and gram panchayat levels, beginning with inaugurations on June 15. Daily yoga activities are to be documented and uploaded on the official portal with photographs.

AYUSH Department Principal Secretary Ranjan Kumar added that state-level competitions—including essay writing, slogan creation, yoga painting, and yogasana—will be held, and winners will receive certificates and cash prizes on June 21.

In education, all District Magistrates have been instructed to identify land within a week for constructing two Chief Minister Model Composite Schools in each district. Director General of School Education Kanchan Verma reported that work has commenced on 43 of the proposed 150 schools.
