Mumbai News: One worker killed and another seriously after being hit by a car driven by Marathi actor Urmila Kothare’s driver in Kandivali East on Saturday early morning, according to police reports.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight when Kothare was returning home from a film shoot. Her vehicle collided with two labourers who were working on the Metro rail project near the Poisar Metro station in Kandivali East. Tragically, one labourer died at the scene, while the other sustained severe injuries. Both Kothare and her driver also suffered injuries, but the airbags deployed in time, preventing more serious harm.
According to officials from the Samta Nagar police station, the initial investigation suggests that the driver lost control of the speeding vehicle, which led to the accident. A case has now been registered against the driver, and police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Urmila Kothare is known for her roles in several Marathi films, including "Duniyadari" and the Hindi film "Thank God."
