Mumbai News: A 16-year-old boy was detained on Saturday afternoon after he vandalised a government bus in Bhandup, Mumbai. The incident occurred around 3:10 PM on Tank Road, where the teenager, reportedly upset after being scolded by his uncle, unleashed his anger by attacking the bus with a sword.
Witnesses captured footage of the boy yelling and threatening the bus driver, Dnyaneshwar Rathod, while wielding the weapon. He shattered the bus's windshield and windows, causing damages estimated at Rs 70,000. Nearby, a water tanker and an auto-rickshaw were also found with broken windshields.
The police were alerted and the teenager was taken into custody. During questioning, he admitted to losing his temper after his uncle accused him of theft, as reported by Lokmat Times. He now faces multiple charges, including criminal intimidation and the use of dangerous weapons. The Damage to Public Property Act and the Arms Act have also been applied in this case.
This teenager has a history of legal troubles, with several cases against him for causing harm and threatening public peace. Following his detention, he was sent to a juvenile remand home.
