Mumbai Bomb Threat: Police have arrested the mastermind behind the fake bomb threat on Anant Chaturdashi, the last day of Ganesh Chaturthi, from Uttar Pradesh’s Noida. The man identified as Ashwini Kumar had warned that 34 live bombs had been planted across the city.

Furthermore, the threat message also claimed that 14 terrorists from Pakistan have entered the city and that they will be using 400 kgs of RDX to blow up the entire city, which can result in the death of 1 crore people. To make the attack more realistic, Ashwini Kumar sent the threat based on a fictitious organisation called “Lashkar-e-Jihadi” which aimed to ‘wipe out the Hindus’.

The threat sent the police control room and the traffic police into red alert and led to an immediate review of the situation. “Mumbai Police is alert, and security across the state has been enhanced. All angles of the threat are being investigated,” a statement released by the Mumbai Police said.

Who Is Ashwini Kumar?

Ashwini Kumar is a postgraduate and a Vastu consultant from Patna and has been living in Noida Sector 79 for the last 5 years along with his parents. Kumar also has an estranged wife named Archana. His father, Suresh Kumar, is a retired education department official, while his mother is a homemaker.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Kumar has gotten into a scuffle with the authorities. In 2023, a complaint was filed against him at Phulwari Sharif police station in Patna. According to the Hindustan Times, Kumar allegedly sent threats under the alias of Firoz to make the threat seem like a terror attack.
